Five-point harnessed booster for smaller car?

I'm searching around for one for ds' dad. Ds is 6 years old, approx. 44 inches tall, ~47 lbs. His dad has a very old Honda Civic... very, very, very old and very small. It has shoulder belts in the back and a retro-fitted tether anchor. I want him in a 5-point harness or I'll be a crazy wreck when they're driving around. The Britax Husky/Regent won't fit, obviously.

Does anyone have suggestions? Thank you!

The Radian might work, until 65lbs. After that, you're kinda SOL

Raidan

There is also a Safety first seat (not sure of the name) that harnesses to 65 pounds.

I also wanted to ask, have you tried a Regent in the car? I only ask because we have a newer Honda Civic and we can get a Marathon and a Regent in there with room to spare. I'm sure ours is a bigger Civic but it might be worth a shot. I love how solid the Regent feels.

Is the Regent the same size as the Husky? If so, it won't fit. He has a Husky that he uses in his van but it doesn't work in the other car.

Thanks for the Radian recommendations. Checking it out now.

the radian would be the best choice IF you can get it to install well in the car, since i'm guessing it doesnt' have LATCH being so old. The saftey first apex is only albe to be used if the seat of the car has a head rest behind the car seat. Once the harness hight is outgrown the child should be good in a booster seat (hi back booster like a parkway, ect) but the raidan is about 180 or so and would ONLY last about 1-2 years at the most i'm guessing.

Do you know if the headrest requirement is also true for the Safeguard seat? I can't seem to find information on that.

I think I'm leaning in the direciton of the Safeguard (depending upon the headrest thing) just because it will last longer (though it doesn't harness high enough for my tastes - that's why I like the Husky). I guess I'll just hope that his car dies before ds reaches 60 lbs.

Have him sit on the floor against a wall and measure from the floor to his shoulders. At this point you might need to look into something like the Ryde Ryte y harness.
