The "NO" song

Hello!

When I got my first kid TibĂ´ (5 years old), I was thinking that spanking was good. It took me a couple of years to realize it was wrong, and another couple of years to manage changing, finding alternatives, and (the most difficult) get my husband to follow me!!!!

I manage, let say, 99%. (once in 2 years ... Not good enough!)

Anyway, this was just to present myself before giving you my preferred trick : the "NO" song.

Everytime Stellou start arguing / refusing etc, I sing this little song :

"No no no no no,
I don't want that,
no no no no no,
I don't agree,

No no no no no
I won't go to bed,
No no no no no
I won't go to sleep" (for example)

As soon as I start the song, she relax;
During the song, I gently do what she was opposed to.
Then everything's fine (most of the time!)
She even start to sing with me

I hope this can help you

That's great .

You're empathizing with her and being silly. A great combo.

That's cute. DS responds very well to me when I start acting silly with him, especially in the midst of a huge tantrum. He also loves when I make up little songs. I will remember that one tonight when it's time for bed.

C'est chouette!

We do the "no-yes-maybe" game. Qualia says no, I say yes, and we go back and forth. Then I start saying no. She starts saying yes. We both get really confused and end on "maybe."

"yes-no-maybe" is also a cute game! I'll try it! When she say "no", I sometimes start saying "no" in the same way, it make her laugh ++++ :

For the song, I use it with anything, I just change the sentences; but I keep the same pattern.

(without that I would get mad! : )
