dd1 29 MONTHS) keeps pushing my dd2 (14 months) and making her fall and cry, and sometimes hitting her, they play well together most of the day, but there is probably about 5 pushes a day and maybe a hit, she does this mostly when dd2 is in her way or disturbing her toys, i am always right there, i cannot keep them separated they are both walking, and do enjoy eachother alot, i really dont want my dd2 to feel abused or scared ever! i keep telling dd2 that hitting hurts Emma and makes her sad and have even made up songs about hitting. this has been going on for so long and i just want it to end!! I have always been consistent and I dont know what to do anymore please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have gone through this with my kiddos (they are 17months apart). Finally it is getting a little better (most days
) but I still have to remind DS constantly to be careful of his sister. his biggie is knocking her over and throwing things more so than hitting. I think it really is inevitable for awhile, especially when they are so young. hang in there!

I think after a hit, they need to be separated, whether you put the little on in the sling, or the big one in the backpack carrier for a "time in", and the focus should be on consoling the one who got hit. Or sit them at opposite ends of the table for a structured activity.
