Does anyone else's baby do this?

Caleigh, in the middle of her nap/sleep, will cry out quite loudly. It will literally bring me running from the other room, it sounds like she has her hand caught in something. Its just so loud! But she's completely asleep and by the time I check on her (about 5 seconds later) she is totally calm. Does anyone know why babies do this?

Ds doesn't do that, but my 5yo used to, she would just cry in her sleep. I guess it's a bad dream!

or maybe a gas pain

DS does that too. I've learned to wait a moment to see if he's really awake before picking him up. I also figured it was either gas or a bad dream!

Daegan just started that the past few days. I'm glad he's not the only one! I think it's gas for him....cause sometimes he'll do it while awake...just scream out for seemingly no reason...then he farts and all is well.

Yes, both of my babes have done this in their sleep.

Katie did it for a couple of days after she had blood drawn for a PKU... the nurse squeezed Katie's little heel forever trying to get enough blood out (probably close to 10minutes), during which time she scremed her head off (and I bawled along with her).. My poor baby was so traumatized by that experience that she would randomly cry in her sleep for several days after.

astrid sometimes does that, but not loudly, she kind of just whines a bit then goes back to sleep.

DD does it too....had me running, but now I'm just waiting for a more persistant call. Bet it's just us 1st timers that run! LOL.

funny, how they all seem to do this, and yet we all worry.
my mica does it too, though it is never any crisis. it still gets me every time...
i think we could all have time better spent worrying on what they're not wailing about.
- or worse - their dadda's crying out in the middle of deep sleep instead.. !
