My dc is wonderful because . . .

-ds#1 got out ds#2's tricycle first today and brought it over to the area where they ride their bikes before he got out his own bike . . . all of his own initiative.

-ds#2 gave me a huge hug today when I told him I was sorry that we couldn't go for a walk because I don't feel well. He also usually wakes first in the house and waits pretty patiently and (mostly) quietly for DH or me to get up, rather than trying to wake us.

-ds#3 babbles and smiles and laughs . . . and is a good sleeper at night.

What about your dc?

ds1 brought ds2 a toy that made him stop with huge tantrum he was having.

ds2 eats and does it heartily. He warms that spot in my heart that wants to feed my kids. (ds1 doesn't like to eat)

Dd shares most of her toys without a complaint, usually of her own initiative - and asks me if a toy is 'safe' for J. She even does this with things she's just gotten.

Ds is happy. I mean, all babies are happy, but he's just so completely happy-go-lucky and in awe of the world that it amazes me. It's not just me, either.

DS shared his "business plan" for when he's grown up with me which includes becoming a professional clarinetist, volunteering at the school where he attends by taking the kids to other countries so they get exposed to other cultures, and volunteering at a local hospital in Ecuador.

DS is also so wonderful because he lovingly brings me water and food and picks up things for me when they drop without complaining. I'm 33 weeks pg tomorrow and he has been the biggest helper ever - carrying bags from the grocery store and everything. :

DD is wonderful because...

She always has a smile for me first thing in the morning as she pats me and screams 'boobie'.

She freely gives 'hugs' to me and DH, and she is always fair - if one of us gets one the other does too.

She is a joyful human being and she passes her happiness to others.

My daughter cleaned the house today... I was gone working for 12 hours, and it was so nice to come home and see everything straightened up and all the dishes done...

My son's smiles light up the room and melt my heart, his laughter and babbling are music to my ears, and he is so sweet to snuggle and hold. He does so many cute and funny things that make the teething fussiness worth living through, and I can't imagine life without him anymore!

thanks for this thread. it's been a rough day and I needed to spend some time thinking about the happy stuff.

DH works offshore and just got home this morning. DS told me a couple of days ago, "All I want for Christmas is my dad."

Every morning when I go in to wake my DD up, she looks up from her pillow and gives me this big cheesy grin. I look forward to it every morning!

DD#1: Because she's deeply empathetic and loving. She's just turned 5 and wants to help others-even her baby sister. She sees dd#2 trying to do something and goes over to help her out. Plus, she's incredibly vivacious and fun to be around.

DD#2: Because she's 8 months old and knows just what she wants. When she doesn't get it, she grunts and pounds her fists. We call her "Frankenbaby". She sounds just like Phil Hartman doing Frankenstein. It's hilarious!

I just love them so much!!
