just out of curiousity?

I'm wondering where dd is at, I think it would also help alleviate extending family concerns as well.

You can look on the back of most children's paperbacks... it will say R.L 3.4 or something, meaning the fourth month of third grade.

You can also check www.lexile.com and search for books that your child is reading... the grade level equivalents are here: http://www.lexile.com/DesktopDefault...=6&tabid=18#18

Do take it all with a big grain of salt... often motivation plays a huge part in what books a child can read, and the systems for ranking books are suspect at best, and "Grade three level" is very different from one dictrict to another...

I did just find this one link that someone posted here in the past.

I'm shocked to find out that dd is coming out with a 4.5 grade result and she's 4.5 yrs old! I knew she was a good reader with excellent comprehension but wowza!

I don't think the grade level thing is very accurate. DS can only "read and comprehend" children's books at a 2nd grade level but he can read comprehend, follow and remember recipes out of cookbooks meant for professional chefs.
