So, for those of us who are inclined to doing a bit of...ummm...retail therapy to help pass these last couple of weeks what have you gotten?

I'm VERY excited because I finally picked up our Ergo today with the newborn insert. It's the new style, in maroon, with the beige & bug pattern infant insert.

And I scored an adorable newborn Zutano dress & Children's Place leggings to match for 50% off the consignment store price, a pair of 0-6 mo Robeez for $10, and 3 med Bummis patterned covers for $1.50 each at Once Upon A Child. I : that store!

Last weekend I bought a little pair of ballet slippers but hid them from my fiance....haha

Sunday we finally picked up the changing table, a moses basket, a little swing, and some baby washcloths for wipes. I kept all my favorite diapers, covers, carriers, etc. from our last kids....we just needed the big stuff. Now I just have to get everything washed and put away. Yes, I'm a procrastinator!!

This past weekend I picked up the last minute stuff we didn't have yet. A snow suit thing for when she is in the carseat, socks, bibs and a baby book. I like to have the book for footprints.

I would *love* to get a moses basket but don't know where to get one retail and don't want to order it of the web this close to Christmas.... so I probably won't have one!

We're pretty much set. I can't belive how many clothes we have managed to accumulate, mostly hand-me-downs, but they all look fantastic! My co-worker (who has had 4 boys) just gave me three of those giant zip-locks filled with clothes and there was some NICE stuff- GAP, Children's Place, Zutano... People keep asking what we still need and the answer is really, not much! I've been using my retail therapy to buy Christmas presents and trying to avoid all the baby stuff!

We do still need a baby book, a new set of Medela pump parts, breastmilk bags and breast pads. None of that is too exciting though!

People have been so generous with us I probably wouldn't have needed to buy anything. Of course that didn't exactly stop me. A friend of mine gave me her old swing and her old bouncy seat, but both look like brand new. I work at a preschool and several families have given me great hand-me-downs. A sling, an infant car seat, a bunch of bottles (I plan on breastfeeding, but will need to pump while I am at work, so the bottles are for Daddy to feed baby while I'm out). Over the summer I filled in for a family's Nanny who was on Vacation. They gave an awesome diaperbag, some clothes, and several blankets.

Yet I still bought plenty for the baby. I went to France with my Mom when I was 5 1/2 months pregnant and I came home with a ton of french baby clothes in sizes from newborn up to 2 years. I doubt I'll be back to france before she turns 2. I also have bought a bunch of cloth diapers, and covers. Though I still think I need more prefolds, and medium size covers. I bought an adorable pair of pink bunny slippers at big lots on friday. I just bought a pink sweater set to go with a pair of baby pants I brought back from France. My FIL bought us a fabulous dresser from pottery barn, and my grandmother bought the Venezia stroller. I put it together already, but it's at my mom's house since it is supposed to be a baby shower gift. Right now I am just holding off till the shower(on the 23rd) and Christmas are over. Then I will fill out what ever is missing that we still need.

My newborn fluff came in the mail this past week I'm looking forward to washing and organizing a system for this babe! Next week, I'll be making cloth wipes at a friend's house (who has a sewing machine). Yay for baby!

We just bought a pad for the changing table, a diaper bag (pink & green camoflauge - so cute!), and two more footed rompers.

I still need a bassinet or something, anything, for the baby to sleep in! We've looked and can't find anything we like - eek!! Also still need a breast pump and baby monitor.

I bought a double jog stroller off Amazon yesterday. It was 60% off or so and the same brand as our single jogger which has held up very well. I figured I wasn't going to find a used one for much less than ordering the new one. If it arrives before xmas then I'll give it to DH as a gift....

I bought some diapers today. Since this is Mr. #2 we are pretty set on clothes and such. I will need to get some Robeeze to keep little toes warm.

I just bought a couple of outfits from gymboree and am about to buy some snappies and bummies covers for when he is a size small.

Hmm...we bought carseats and had them installed and bought a bunch of baby bath products and some tiny disposables for the meconium poop. I still need to get the leg extensions for the co-sleeper and the infant head inserts for the carseats. Oh, and my dad officially passed on our family heirloom--an antique rocking chair that my grandmother was nursed in (and then my dad, and then me). It is very beautiful, sturdy, and amazingly comfy. I'm happy to have it for my little babe!

I got a new hotsling in the Morocco pattern. I think I really want the Zoie also, so maybe I'll order that one too. Hey, got two new babies, need two new slings, right? I also ordered some snappis. I still need to order the Land's End diaper bag, then I should be all set.

u know what i really need to either find or make - some of those washable laundry bags for my CD pail (some type of semi permeable vinalish material). I found huge ones at target, but so far i have only seen them for crazy prices online - like $12/ea. My pail is like 8-10 gals and i really really dont want to have to use plastic bags.....that would just totally defeat the purpose! other than that i think i actually have everything.

just how hard is it to wash this first poopoo off of a regular prefold anyway?? i actually dont even have one disposable (wait, maybe i saved the one that huggies sent me in a promo pack)....is that poo really that bad??

I forgot about meconium poop! It is bad... It's like tar. Super sticky and nasty. If you coat babies bum ahead of time with something (diaper cream, vaseoline, un-pertroleum jelly) it comes off much easier! I was going to bring a cute fitted cloth diaper and cover to the hospital... Maybe I will rethink that and stick with sposies for the first few days/week. What are you all using for a diaper pail? I need to get a new one for cloth and was never happy with the the one I had before (which was really just a garbage can with a lid).

I got a small white one from target, it has a cover and although I was looking for one with a foot opening button, this one has a button on the lid that you barely need to push to open (thought i would probably use my knee as it is pretty short) - and if i am remembering correctly it was only like $7.99. I think it takes 8-10 gal. bags - so that shouldnt get too heavy and will force me to wash them before they sit there long enough to get too stinky i should think....

I suppose if the meconium is too yucky I can just send a couple prefolds to the rag bag if they stain too badly...

I'm still in the process of looking for the exact woolwash and lanolin spray that I want, and I need some breast pads, and I need to buy fabric to sew a diaper bag, but other than that, there's been and will be no buying for this babe as I have so much already and we're currently living with my dad while we sell our house so they tend to buy anything they can think of for DD. I might consider buying an ergo soon.....hmmm....maybe I'll add that to the list. Otherwise, I'm done!
Just today I bought a moses basket ($12), moccasins (sp?), baby hat to match the snow suit I have. I plan on hitting boxing day sales for stuff too.
I still need a breast pump (have one can't find it!) ... and a double stroller but that can wait until the spring.

My solution was to buy disposable, flushable liners that are biodegradable. That way no poop from the babe ends up in the landfill and I can CD from the start.

My splurge was disposable mama pads before I start using cloth.

And I finally found a blank "Baby's First Year" Calendar. I bought a complete baby book for DD and I never filled it in, but the calendar was much easier to use. Just took me a while to find one gender neutral and not filled with pacifiers and bottles :

Nuthin' except a couple of sleepers I found at the thrift store a couple of weeks ago. I would love a new sling but I'm patiently waiting until baby is born.

Where'd you find one? I had one for DS and loved it. I really want one for this baby too.
