Fun thread: What baby stuff have you bought lately? - Page 2

This place has a nice selection of baby books:

http://www.baby-memory-books.com/

I don't know if they have calendars though. I was able to get the same book I used for DS - one that is gender neutral, reasonably priced ($30), lots of pockets, and not a single mention of bottles/formula. All the books at the local Barnes and Noble had entries for "first bottle" and "weaned at" (during first year) and "kind of formula" Blech!

I found a really cute baby memory book today at B & N. It's Eric Carle's Very Special Baby Journal and it doesn't seem overly ambitious. I have finally given myself permission not to keep beating myself up over blowing off my pregnancy album. It was just too overwhelming, all the details. This one seems very do-able and has more spaces for photos than a lot of writing. There is a "first held a bottle" but I figure you could cross it off and put "sippy cup" or something. It has the caterpillar on the front and great illustrations inside. Here's a link on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Eric-Carles-Ve.../dp/0399246673

I bought some baby slippers that are dragons with dingleberry dangly green feet and over-an-ear bright yellow crowns. They are SSSSOOOO cute. Ds and I have already had hours of play out of them, so the $4.50 was worth it, imo, even if the baby doesn't keep 'em on his/her feet. I was about to buy dragon robeez, but I was glad to save the $$$$.

I bought this one at Baby Depot (part of Burlington Coat Factory out here, an outlet type store). It came with an ink-pad to do footprints and handprints with!

I know you can order them online. Some party stores or card stores carry them too. I had a Winnie-the-Pooh gender neutral one for DD and I LOVED it, and my sister happened to find it at some random local party store.

Oh cool, we have a burlington coat factory here. I'll have to pop in next time I'm over that way and hope they have similar stock! Thanks!

not necessarily a baby item but since my boys popped my other ball I went and got a new exercise ball today and am sitting and rocking on it now. Holy cow it feels amazing. I can't believe how nicely it takes the pressure off of my pelvis and the rocking feels so dang good.

Holy crap I've got some serious baby brain! I actually OWN one of those awesome balls, but it's deflated ATM cause we just didn't have space in our tiny house for it. I'd totally forgotten about it...

I've gotta go dig that puppy out tomorrow & give it a try!

Geez, you all have bought a lot. I have so much from my other kids. When I found out this was another boy I was crushed a bit. I had just bought matching Gymboree shirts for my dd and what I was thinking was a new baby sister for her! So, now what do I do with the 0-3 mo Pink cordoroy flowing shirt???

I decided to make this more real, I need to buy 1 boy outfit. I went on-line and bought an EcoBaby organic sherpa shirt and footed pant. I wish I had an organic sherpa hat to match, it is so soft.

I bought 4 or 5 fitteds from the TP, 1 girly!!! Oh, well, he's wearing it anyway.

We don't need anything you can buy in a store. We have 2 swings, 3 strollers, oodles of carseats (1 carrier, 2 reversibles, and boosters), crib, pack n play, bassinet, my parents are bringing a cradle (like we need another baby bed), bouncy chair, rocking chair, I have slings, wraps, etc so I never really use the other stuffs, oh and I bought a nice play pen at a thrift store late summer for $5 (my mother can shut up now about how baby's need to play in play pens).

What we do need is our downstairs bedrooms finished to give our other children bedrooms and this baby's things a place. Baby stays with us for a long while, but the clothes, diapers etc need to be in a bedroom, not mine.

It doesn't count as buying but my co-workers gave me a beautiful diaper cake yesterday made with prefolds instead of sposies! It has some new little toys-- cute cloth Lamaze ones-- a recieving blanket, a bib, a washcloth, etc. It's nice to have some of that new for this baby. And not pink

I also finally bought some breast pads, breast milk bags and a couple other little things we needed.

I just bought some cute outfits and hats at Children's Place. They were having a huge sale, and I didn't pay more than $3 for anything. Let's see, I was in Goodwill, and I hit the jackpot because they had all kinds of stuff brand new, with tags for $1. I found a moses basket for $20. I'm making everything else.

Oh and jackpot #2 is coming for Christmas. My mom asked me what I still needed for the baby/ies, and I told her more cloth dipes are always good. I steered her toward the bum genius 2.0s. She says, "You might be having twins right? You're gonna need a lot of these." You can buy them in packs of twelve, and she's sending me TWO of those. So I will have 24 brand spankin new Bum Genius pocket dipes. Yay MOM! I've never gotten to use any fancy new diapers, just prefolds, and used covers. She was amazed at the whole diaper scene, how many different types and makers there are. She asked if it was okay to look around for cute diapers to send me. My Mom's gone totally hyena on me.

On Tuesday I should receive the organic wool/cotton mattress I ordered. After we receive that, we are set for the baby. But DH and I received the high chair for which I registered as a Christmas gift from my parents. It was a really nice surprise and we're set for when DD starts on solids. Also, my mom made a baby comforter for me. She found classic Winnie the Pooh fabric and wrapped my baby shower gift in it and then made the blanket.

adding another, I splurged and got a wipes warmer. I think they make cloth wipes so nice.
