How unusual is this? Top molar popping through before front teeth?

I know that Luna has been in the verge of teething, but yesterday as she was gnawing on my fingers I felt something hard on my fingernail and, lo and behold, she is getting a top molar poking through! : I really thought that the front teeth came in first. Is that bizarre or what?

Colle's two canines are coming in. No action on the bottom.

Our ped told us that IT IS UNUSUAL for the tops to come in first. However, the tops may slow down all of the sudden and let the bottoms come in.

Different, but not unheard of. Nate is always shoving his finger way back on the left side to chew on it there, so I was beginning to wonder about molars too!

The first telltale teething blister I saw in Lucas' mouth was his back right molar.
I was thinking thrush, but there are no other symptoms. Then he started drooling, chewing on everything in sight, generally being fussy and attempting to eat my fingers any time they were near his mouth. Now he's got a top and bottom incisor coming in as well as that molar. Poor child.

Glad to know this happened to someone else! In my ddc, no less.

My dd had what we thought was a molar on the bottom, but it went away after a week or two! The ped said it was probably a calcification on the gum... don't know a lot about it

My DD had what I thought might be a molar, but my ped said it was a cyst of some form... It went away.

Those molars are pretty bad... Hope it wasn't too hard on the little ones

I was thinking about this too. Ds has bumps where his canines and molars will be and he chews hard on those spots. No teeth are actually breaking through yet. I always thought it was bottom middle then top middle.

My dd got her canine tooth on the top right at 12 weeks old and nothing else till 10 months old she got her bottom front teeth.

Now at 4 she has no 1 year molars, even on x-rays...

Both of mine got their top lateral incisors first. I can feel Liam's molars under the gums, but I bet it still takes him two years to get them in.
