Is beewax safe for babies?

I have some wood toys that I was planning on finishing with beeswax. I got my beeswax today and when I sniffed it, I realized.....HONEY! My baby is 8 months old and I know babies aren't supposed to have honey until after a year. Would it be dangerous for her to mouth something that is finished with beeswax?? :

Babies are not supposed to have honey because of botulism. if you have any family members that are allergic to bees I wouldn't use it. Other than that I think it would be ok.
