Corn bags.........smell???

How long did it take for the corn smell to get out of your hot pad? I'm giving some as gifts and have been microwaving them all morning, and they still smell like corn. I don't know if that is a bad or good thing, but I'd like them as scent-free as I can manage.

I can't answer your question, but I just posted about using cracked corn. I think they might not hold the heat as well, but I didn't notice a corn smell. My guess is that as long as there is some moisture in your corn (which is a good thing for hot packs), you will have a bit of a corn aroma.

They don't smell until you nuke them, LOL!!!

This guy thinks you shouldn't use cracked corn.

Oh bummer about the cracked corn. Well, I'll do better next time. Or maybe I'll email my gift recipients with re-moistening instructions! I actually did nuke mine 2 min, very very hot!), and there was no smell. Not sure why.
