uses for dr. bronner's?

i've used it off and on for a few years, but mostly only for cleaning counters, floors, bathroom, dishes, spills, etc. and i usually just dilute a random amount and go from there. but i'm curious how other people who are more measurement-inclined dilute it, and what you use it for. i am especially interested in how much you use in the laundry.

thanks!

I've used it for just about everything. I first discovered it on a trip to China. My room-mate there had brought it along. I've loved it ever since.

I like to take it as an all-purpose cleaner when camping. Less to pack and can wash ourselves, dishes, and anything else. I generally dilute it as you do, without measuring. I have used it full-strength as a degreaser. We have rental property and after a tennant moved out, I had to clean a very dirty, grimy kitchen - so full strength!

I was just at a friends house and smelled it upon entering her kitchen. When I asked her about it, she pointed out that it was in her built-in soap dispenser at the sink. It made her kitchen smell great.

I've also used it for laundry in a pinch when out of detergent. It's too expensive for me to use that way regularly - even diluted!

thanks, lemonbalm!

that's my current situation- out of detergent. would a few tablespoons be sufficient, do you think?

I think a few tablespoons would be plenty. I don't remember how much I used. I just poured a little out of the bottle, I can't imagine I would have used much beyond that. If you line dry, they should smell extra good between the line drying and the peppermint smell. Ooops! That reminds me, I never hung out the laundry today.

mmmm.. peppermint. i got kinda silly and overly-paranoid and bought the baby dr. b's this time cuz i'm pregnant.. but i looooove the peppermint. makes cleaning delicious!

Mamabeard,
I just thought of another use. I put some dr. bronner's, very diluted with water, into a spray bottle. I use it to spray on my indoor hibiscus that is plauged with little white bugs (I forgot what they're called). Spray it twice a day on the plant to get rid of them.

I also add it to a spray bottle with hot water and vinegar, to get greasy toddler hand marks off glass and mirrors.

I have used it too, when out of detergent, just squirting from the bottle.

o.k...I left my vinegar at te last house I cleaned and don't have a car to go get it for a few days. I can't find my baking soda, and I don't have anything natural left in the house to clean with except a new bottle of dr.bronners aloe vera that I have no idea what to do with!

I need to clean bathrooms tomorrow, PLUS, we're all out of dishwashing soap (for the dishwasher). How do (and can) I measure/dilute/clean everything with it?

TIA!!!!!
