rash with unknown cause

I have a rash that is probably a reaction to something. It's on one of my hands and on my wrist. I had two similar reactions last April/May. We have no idea what caused them. How long would it take for me to react to something? How can I go about discovering what is the cause of it?

Could I be allergic to Tea Tree Oil? I'm running out of ideas here.

Tto is a common irritant/ allergy. Most rashes like that happen minutes to a day after exposure.

I mentioned TTO because I had started feeling a little itchy on my hand. It could have been dry skin but since I wasn't sure (and I'm getting over a fungal infection on my feet), I put TTO on it throughout the day for 2-3 days. I've used products with TTO for 2 years but this time I put it on straight, more than once a day. Do you think the TTO could have irritated it? Could it have caused it?
