Blizzard warning

So, there is a blizzard warning here in the Denver metro area, with most of the accumulation predicted in my area. : So, uh, nevermind what I said earlier about wanting to go into labor any day now. I would feel much more comfortable if the roads were clear and my midwives could actually reach us.

Our last blizzard had us snowed in for 3 full days. The snow was chest high, and piles we shoveled were way over my head. Fingers crossed that this storm passes us quickly.

And horray for a white X-mas!

Hey, I am in Loveland and had the worst sleep last night due to the high winds. it is snowing now. isn't there something about going into labor during a storm? like a storm causes labor?? who knows. I would also rather wait until it clears up..but would also be happy to give birth today!
have a good one!

Hi up there! Yes, the winds were pretty bad here as well. I believe it is a change in pressure which helps labor come along. Keeping my legs crossed!

I'm in Fort Collins and it is coming down good here too... I went into labor during our last cold snap, right after Thanksgiving... babies like to be born during awful weather!!

I totally remember the blizzard of '03 - I had my 20-week ultrasound scheduled that day, when I was pregnant with DD - I was so disappointed, not only could we not get out for the ultrasound, we couldn't leave the house for 3 days! We got very creative making meals out of the bags of frozen things in our freezer.

Is it still snowing? I had heard a lot people were staying home today too, so I figured it probably was.

it stopped snowing up here in loveland, but we can not get out of our neighborhood. i am so thankful i did not go into labor last night or today. there is litterally feet of snow in the street and the paper says the plows may not be by for a couple of days. there is no mail or newspaper delivery. it's just crazy. dh has been shoveling all day...some on our driveway and some digging people's cars out who decided to try and leave today.
take it easy!

I believe it stopped in Loveland before it did in the Denver Metro area. But the sun has poked its head out now, so that is a welcome site. I didn't go into labor, either, so that makes me happy. DH is out shoveling. I made him do it yesterday, and took about 2 feet off the driveway. Today, he probably had another foot to do. The plows will take days to get here, too. My guess is that the main streets will be fine by tomorrow, and best by the weekend.

Did anyone have their baby duing the storm?
i held off thank goodness! we still haven't seen a plow in our neighborhood. luckily a few people have made some tracks in the 2+ feet of snow in the road and we don't have very far to go to get out of the neighborhood. dh is attempting to go to work today...he must have shoveled for 4 hours yesterday. all the main roads are clear, but i'm not sure why they aren't plowing the neighborhoods.
the sun is shining!
i hope everyone stayed safe and warm
