Wheat senstitivity in baby??

hi all,
I suspect something I am eating is bothering my ebf 6 month old...he is and has been extrememly gassy, waking all night, mucus stools and red rash on the anus. His reddness has improved somewhat after eliminating dairy and nuts (not sure which one was the cuplrit), but the gassyness and horrible nightwaking continues.

So, really the next thing is wheat. I eat a lot of it, love it, crave it and all that....so my question is..if I am to proceed to eliminate wheat from my diet, how long will it take to see results? It will be hard for me so I need to know when to give up!

Thanks!

Probably 2 weeks. Did you eliminate all sources of dairy including hidden sources? What about fish, shellfish, soy or eggs? Those are all highly common allergens.

Well, I thought I had eliminated all sources of dairy, but just read that Rice Dream is contaminated and I drink that daily...

not eating egg-dd has an egg allergy...soy, only small amounts. no shellfish.

wheat is what i eat the most of. but I am so overwhelmed and so tired I think I am just crazy.

Honestly, I am horrible with elimination diets. I am tired. I am hungry, I just want to eat something good!

i ate and craved wheat, preanut butter and dairy when pregnant. ds started reacting to my milk around 4 wks old. after lots of elimination diets i found that me eating all 3 of these foods were causing his eczema as well as lots of other foods (lucky us). anyway, just wanted to say i know it can be a total pain but i've found after being wf, df, pf, etc. for over 7 months now it gets easier.
you may want to give it a full 4 weeks to really see a change. at first i too was hoping just 2 weeks, i did a few elimation diets that long and while i could notice a little bit once i did a much longer elimination diet his skin cleared up and was 'perfect' for months (at least until we started the solid food fun and are finding more foods that trigger his eczema).
hang in there.

Rice dream is fine for dairy, not for wheat avoiders. Your next step IMO is soy as up to 50% of those who react to dairy, react to soy. All of my kids react to both.
