Do Ya'll Eat The Stringy Stuff?

In Kombucha? I've been buying mine at a local farmer's market while waiting for my scoby to get here.

Most jars have a pretty good little glob of goopy, stringy, soggy looking brown stuff (scoby?) and some have just some floaties.

I had previously blended up the glob in a smoothie as it didn't look appetizing, but thought otherwise about it today.

So...do ya'll eat it? I've already started a batch with a jar of it and just hate to waste the globs unless they're not so good for you!

TIA!

When I buy kombucha (haven't gotten around to making my own), I do drink the slimy stuff (but the slimy stuff is usually in lots of small bits so I just drink it down).

I think I heard that the brown stringy things are yeast--good for you full of B's. Is that right?

Sometimes I drink them, and sometimes I try to avoid them. Depends...
