To tell you the truth, we had our blood test done by our Ped in hopes it would help us solve DD's excema problems. They had to draw so much blood that her veins gave out, because they did such an extensive profile on her. She did pretty good, because she had been poked before for blood draws for other things such as lead tests.
So when we went to the Ped allergist (make sure you go to one of those) I just wanted the rash to stop. They prescribed Zyertec and Elidel for 6 weeks to calm her nervous system down and put her on a dairy free diet, as well as eliminating her other allergies.
I was sort of a basket case when I went, lack of sleep because DD was up all night scratching. I needed time to regroup. She was able to tell me things like: Yes, I have to get rid of the cat because if the cat is showing up at this age, it means it is very severe. That sort of thing.
I just mainly told her what we had been trying, if I thought it had been working. That sort of thing. I think at our next appointment I will have more questions.
