Talking and Potty Training Twins

Help! My twins don't talk much. They are about three years old and they talk in "twinnese." We've always talked to them, read to them, played with them, etc., but they seem to prefer talking in their twin-speak, to us and to each other. They are picking up some words and for the most part are making themselves heard (unless it's a tantrum and then it's back to twin-speak again).
I'm also having a bit of a problem teaching them potty training. They aren't interested! I figure, if one learns, the other will follow. Just like crawling and walking. Any suggestions? Anyone else have problems like this?

We're not there yet but maybe they aren't picking up more words simply because they don't have to. If you understand their "twinnese" then there's no motivation for them to move on to English. My oldest son didn't really start talking until just after his second birthday and he still does his "Killianese" occasionally. As for potty training, have you tried just letting them run around naked? That's how we got our oldest ds started. If he had on clothes he had accidents but would almost always use the potty when he was naked. Sorry I can't think of any other suggestions. HTH

hi, mom3. I'm OpsMom....Just had a bit of a name change....

Duncan (twin A) in the last three days has really started talking. Now he talks all the time. Most of it is understandable, but sometimes he lapses into twinnese. He also is starting to think about potty training. He says "potty!" and things like "icky, yuck!" when he's dirty. So, I have hope.
