Where do you buy succanat?

I read here that succanat is a good way to boost water kefir grains. I couldn't find any the HFS or grocery store. Would it be sold under another name?

I buy mine at Whole Foods. You can also use rapadura. There's a history behind sucanat and rapadura in terms of how they are made, but they are basically the same thing now -- unrefined dehydrated sugar cane juice.

Oh, thanks! I do remember seeing rapadura. Can't wait to get those water kefir grains and give it a try!

I have been using succanat with my water kefir grains and they have been doing really well. I also add a 3-4 small slices of frozen banana to my water kefir and the grains seem to really like that too . I actually purchased my succanat from Super Target.
