Do you think that if we trust our "cravings" that eventually we will just eat the "right " amount of fats ? Coming off a low fat way of eating , I crave fats and eat way to much fats/butter etc..lol, but after a while (and giving myself "permission" , I can feel satisfied with only one piece of buttered bread ..(or heaviy buttered veggies) I wonder sometimes if the craving for fats is just the bodies way of trying to heal itself. I have experiensed too many years of low fat, not to mention those childbearing/nursing years, and just the daily stress that seems to induce that primal "fight or flight response" where I am more inclined to eat something full fat because instintively who knows when the next meal may be. Being active or not, I think our bodies know what it needs we just need to learn to listen to it better...(however, the very load sound of comfort food yelling at me especiually this time of year doesn't help )Any thoughts ?
