I'm pretty certain my 12 month old is reacting to some whole wheat oatmeal cookies I ate last night. I put her to bed around 8:30 and ate the cookies around 10 pm. She woke up at around 1:30 am and nursed. Around 2:30 am she woke again and was poopy (she poops in the middle of the night when she's reacting to something I ate). I changed her and tried to nurse her to sleep...more poops. Changed her again and she went to sleep without nursing again. She woke at around 6:30 and pooped some more and then I nursed her back to sleep. She woke again around 8:30 and pooped a little more (green diarrhea with a bit of blood in it--I think her poor little butt is probably pretty sore by now). A few minutes later she threw up. I nursed her afterwards and she threw up again maybe 30 minutes later.
I'm not sure if all of this is related to the wheat or if she is actually sick--the last time I ate whole wheat she pooped once in the middle of the night and was really restless that night (which is her usual reaction to foods I eat that she reacts to). This time she wasn't restless, more listless.
If anyone's wondering, this is the first time I've been sure that it was wheat she was reacting to--there are always other foods I eat when I eat wheat that I don't normally eat, so it's hard to tell what she's reacting to, plus she barely reacts to products made with white flour, so that confused me, too. Apparently whole wheat is really hard on her system.
