I've been cooking with a lot of butter. Does anyone know if there's an affordable alternative to what I get at Costco (the best price I've found for butter) that's closer to the ideal of grass-fed? Would I be better off getting pork or beef fat from WF and rendering it for cooking, and reducing our butter consumption?

Can you get Kerrygold butter? It's grass fed.

Well as far as price goes, I think the lard would win. The butcher at my WF counter will give me pork fat for free.
Then you could use lesser amounts of the kerrygold butter for melting/spreading.
