VBAC mama update

I am just curious how the VBAC mamas are doing, I know some have had their babes.

I am a little nervous (well trying not to be), my blood pressure has been higher and that was the reason I was transfered last time. My swelling is great though and I haven't had any protien, so I am trying to think positive.

I'm keeping great vbac birthing thoughts for you!! My second son was my first VBAC. My little girl (born 12/12) was my second, and she was my homebirth baby.

I'm so grateful for a cooperative OB/GYN who helped my VBAC happen -- since I believe it helped set me up for a successful homebirth as well.

I can't even believe what a better experience recovery was from C/S to VBAC -- and then it was even easier from my hospital VBAC to my recent homebirth.

I got my VBAC on the 16th. It was an awesome and empowering experience. We were even able to VBAC at home! My midwife and doula were both amazing. I had thought perhaps I might experience a little fear when I went into labor, but everything went so smoothly, and I had so much confidence in my body and the women assisting me that I never felt a twinge of fear. I'm sending all you other VBAC moms easy labor vibes. You can do it!!!

I am glad you two have gotten your great VBACs and thanks for the encouragement. mlh I know what you mean about not wanting to go through that again, I just don't know if I could handle it mentally.

I had a VBAC on the 9th and it was one of the most awesome experiences of my life! Truly a time to remember. It was a tough journey since I went for hours with this labor. During labor, there was a point where I felt I might end up with a c-section again, even though I felt pretty positive about having a normal birth most of the time. My midwife, doulas, and DH held hands around me and told me I needed to let go of my previous birth. And I just cried. And cried. And cried. I was able to let go most of the c-section memories (not completly) and move forward. Couple hours later, my sweet baby girl was born after 30 minutes of pushing.

VBAC mamas - you can do it. I know it's so hard to trust after the cs. Remain positive and look forward to having your baby in your arms!

it is sooo great to hear succesful vbac stories!
i am due tomorrow and wondering if i will ever go into labor. one reason for my ceserean was that i never went into labor after my water broke. i know i still have a week or so before i should start to worry, but it's hard not to think about it. i am patiently waiting but also worrying i may end up not going into labor again.
thanks for listening!

Just wanted to let you all know I had a vbac 3 weeks ago. You can do this!!! My previous birth I was induced at 38 weeks and didn't progress beyond 2 cm. This time I went into labor on my own and had my boy after MANY hours of labor (40 some) and he was posterior but we did it! I took a long time to dilate and if I was in the hospital that whole time I am sure they would have thought I wouldn't be able to do it. But I stayed home until I was 6 cm (I planned to stay home longer but it didn't work that way).
I also did lots of crying during my labor for lots of reasons (worried I would have a c/s again, worried I wasn't going to progress, anxiety about having three kids to take care of, the pain etc etc) but my doula and dh encouraged me to get it out.
I can't wait to see more successful vbac's on this board!

Popping in from January ddc. Coudn't resist this thread as I'm also vbac hopeful.

If that happens again you might consider taking oil of oregano. It is widely available, mostly at health food stores. A bottle of about 30 pills is roughly $9. I've heard different dosing but if I were to try it I would wait 2 hours after my water broke and if I didn't start contracting I'd take 2 pills every 3-4 hours.

Oil of oregano is a strong antibacterial and antifungal. It is counterindicated through most of pregnancy because it causes contractions. Absoutely perfect for when your water breaks and contractions haven't started.
