haven't eaten anything in hours and I still feel full!!

Okay, I'm hypoglycemic and usually get hungry quick after a meal. But today it's been HOURS since I had anything to eat, and I still feel full.

Actually, I feel a bit over-full and a bit on the heartburn side.

Today I ate:

2 whole grain pancakes (a smaller serving than usual) with about 1.5 C. homemade cranberry sauce (basically just cranberries cooked w/ just enough maple syrup to make them not too too tart).

A tortilla (white flour, and oil, but not too much extra crap in it, from TJ's) with an avocado, some lettuce, and cream cheese in a wrap

A 6 inch veggie sub from Subway (DH brought it home)

3 jelly beans

2 C. raw milk w/ 2 tbsp cocoa powder and about 2 tsp. honey (hot chocolate, yum!)

It feels like my body is shifting to taking in a smaller quantity of higher-calorie food rather than a lot of bulky carbs, if that makes any sense. And I'm eating more veggies than I had been for a long while, and just don't feel as ravenous before meals.

I hear ya. I also eat smaller portions and feel completely satisfied because I eat quality nutrient dense foods and animal fats instead of loading up on high-carb low-fat foods. Dinner is usually something like 3/4 c. cooked brown rice, 1/2 chicken breast made into a curry, plenty of veggies and a home-made fermented chutney. A small plate of food really, but the curry is full of co and butter and has the skin on the chicken...and I use plenty of butter on both my veggies and rice...and I feel completely satisfied and NOURISHED. I can even feel the difference now if I am simply full on empty calories vs satisfied and nourished.

Also...the other day at 6:45 am I had 2 eggs with little shredded raw cheese on top, 1 slice of sprouted grain bread with plenty of butter and a dab of all fruit spread and didn't feel hungry again until 12. Oatmeal is good but when I have just grains for breakfast like that I am famished again by 10. I also have experienced eating somewhere I won't say (fast food) for breakfast and even though it was full of carbs, protein and fat...they were all poor quality and I felt famished again a couple hours later.

Your body feels satisfied when it is nourished, ya know?

Me too....especially if I eat protein and fat. My typical breakfat it 1-2 eggs fried in butter, some brocolli and tea with cream. I am FULL untill noonish...

It is definately the fat thing, I am sure. One time I was dipping little teaspoons of coconut oil in some hot coco mix and nibbling on that while I was checking my email, before lunch. well maybe I had a table spoon all together and I did not want to eat untill dinner. I guess that is the premise of EFLF, right? ( I dont have the book, yet!)

I know what you mean! My typical working day (non-weekend) consists of:

breakfast
1 hard boiled egg (organic)
4 spoons of homemade applesauce
a few soaked almonds

mid morning snack
a few oz of salmon or chicken
raw veggie of some sort
flax seed oil

lunch
Large salad
brown rice (3 tbs)
protein (chicken or fish) (small piece)
fruit

dinner
(tonight)
homemade fried rice made with last night brown/black/red/wild rice combo, cooked in coconut oil. Oven fried chicken breasts strips,(baked in coconut oil) large raw veggie salad with alvocado. SO is vegetarian so he will have another type of protein.

My portions are pretty small. Maybe 1-3 spoons of rice and less than a standard serving of protein, but I stay pretty satisfied throughout the day.

When I skip meals or don’t eat enough, I start to feel very sick and worn out. The days I workout (4-5 days a week) I eat another meal and more carbs before and protien after.
