can anyone help me to convince dh of TF?

it is kind of strange b/c i got into this b/c of him. he had/has candida overgrowth and whe he was really sick last year : i did alot of research and came across NT. He grew up with whole wheat and tofu sanwiches and homeopathy, i grew up regular SAD but was inclined towards health had a breif period as a vegan no sugar person in college and then got over it and came into the marriage pushing tylenol on DH for his headaches. NT makes so much sense to me, i feel so good. the thing is dh is very stressed and insists on eating tons of junk food to deal with it. NT is a great book but all that info in the sidebars... how doyou ever find it again. I think he beleives it is best but just doesnt want to give up the sugar. Is there anythink shorter and more concise that i could give him to read. Just about sugar and canola oil being bad for him would be enough. Also any advice about baking would be appretiated. If I cant make a good desert when guests come over, (chocolate cake using olive oil, honey and carrob powder - cocoa is too bitter w/o sugar works but he got tired of that) he is never gonna go for it.

thanks, gila

From my own experience with a stressed hubby ( mine is an author and gets through deadlines with mountain dew..... ) is that you cant take away, you can only add. So I make sure he eats great food in between his sodas and sugars and junkfood that he thinks keep him going. Thank god he eats well and very little junk when he is not working on a deadline.

Also just keep trying new recipes. I finally found a pizza crust recipe that every one loves, is gluten free ( for me) and low in phytates ( I dont soak it...):

Slow and steady is my advice....and the more healthy foods you get into him, the less he will crave the junk and the less room there will be for the junk.....And when he does eat junk, dont give him a hard time about it. Quote recent research to him when he is not eating and dont mention how bad what he is eating is for him WHILE he is eating it

Well, for starters, I'd use coconut oil and/or real butter in baking, not olive oil.

I feel the same way about the sidebars in NT- I'd rather just have all the info together in regular book format, with the recipes separate. I found "Eat Fat, Lose Fat" to be much more readable.
