Arching back?

anyone have a baby that arches their back everytime you try to sit them up? (I usually sit Elliot on my lap in the chair). Now, everytime I do this he arches his back and gets fussy. It's gotten to the point that he doesn't want to be in any kind of semi-sitting or sitting position. It's absolutely bizarre to me.

Nate often does this because he wants to stand, not sit. As soon as I hold his waist and he stands up he's happy again.

Sean tries to arch his back to get out of his car seat. He also seems to do it if I'm holding him and he wants to stand up. He is a very determined baby.

Aria also does this because she would rather be standing than any position. But it is also cause lately she likes to look at the world upside down- twice the perspective as only rightside up.

yep, Erin too (trying to stand up & get out of car seat). She also does it when she'd tired & cranky too (we're holding her trying to help her to sleep)

Yup, she's stiff as a board unless allowed to stand to her heart's content. If I had a dollar for every person who told me "standing is bad for her hips", i'd be draped in rubies.
