Most of us here can agree that, as long as the result is a healthy baby and mom, a homebirth with even a lousy midwife is still generally a wonderful experience compared to a hospital birth. So...

I am married to my best friend and we are raising "our" daughter Abby who was born from his late wife. We are very excited to have another little one on the way.
I will tentatively join, though I hope I'm not premature. I got my first very faint BFP this morning. My period is 2 days late, but I'm only 11DPO (I was taking B6 this cycle to help with my LP).
Name: Alison
Age: 30 (ouch - it's hard to write that!)
DS: Alan, 12/04
Due Date: September 11th or so (though the little wheel will say 9/7)
Birth Plans: BC birth, I hope and pray (DS was a failed BC birth). I will definitely hire a doula this time and I want DS to be there.
Location: Maryland
Current Symptoms: Insomnia (mostly due to anxiety), belching, tingling hand
Other: I am still nursing DS, who just turned two. I'm a little concerned about progesterone because of that. I have also noticed him asking for a lot more solid food the past few days and he nurses all night long. I'm wondering if my milk is already changing?
I'm looking forward to sharing this experience with all of you.

I am so sorry its_our_family & naerae_30!!!
naerae_30: how are you doing.... is it just spotting??? I am praying for you!
Congrats and welcome: rach03, Brilliantmama and gizzyntaz!!!
gizzyntaz: I am breastfeeding my 19 month son and I didn't know about changing levels.... can you tell me more about that? I did some reading and everything that I have found says that breastfeeding is okay during pregnancy.
RachelS - Nursing is fine during pregnancy as long your pregnancy is "normal". I'm probably worrying for nothing!
My LP was super short the last two months (I just got AF back 2 months ago), and I think it was linked to the nursing, because it never was pre-DS. That's why I'm a little concerned. I'll rest so much easier once my midwives reassure me.
Thanks for your support, guys... I passed a rather large clot this morning (and I've been passing little ones in between) and have a good amount of bleeding and A LOT of cramping. Sooooo, sorry to be a bummer to the rest of you (I always hated hearing/reading m/c stories when I was pg), but I am afraid that this is over for us. The midwife said to just let things happen. I wasn't too far along so physically it shouldn't be too terrible. I don't know what to expect since this is my first m/c....
Good luck and sticky thoughts to the rest of you...
Renee, check out the Pregnancy Loss forum -- there's a wonderful sticky thread there with miscarriage stories. They helped to prepare me for my own miscarriage (and my own story is in there too), since it took a few weeks to really become "productive". It's so hard... And I'm so sorry.
Hi there!
I'm Kristen, age 28, expecting babe number one sometime at the end of August, beginning of September. I'm an apprentice midwife and very excited to finally be the one who is pregnant!
Only slight waves of ickyness now and then, sore nipples, and my jeans feel just a little tight.
