GUm sensitivity after dental filling

Ok, yay! I got my tooth filled. I did the ligth cured plastic on Wed. On Wed night, about 5 am, I woke in excrutiating pain. I took 4 advil, 4 ttething tablets and a cup of chamomille tea. At that point, the warm made it feel worse.
I called the dentist the next day, I went in on Fri, he said there was a tiny speck sticking up and he shaved it off. I am a night grinder, so thursday night, I wore my night guard, and that helped immensely. That first bit of pain was all kind of deep jaw pain, I suspect fromt oo much pressure while biting. NOw, though I am having cold sensitivity on the gums right around that tooth. I have a stuffy nose,a nd so cannot really shut my mouth all th way. SO, I am breathing air, and ouch! constantly. The advil is still helping, but i dont want to take that foor the 4 to 6 weks I read it might take to desensitize. I bought some orajel and it didnt help. I had more tea and that did, plus the advil. What else can I do? How about the orajel toothpaste>

Please help!
