...to get a good handprint from my 2 mo old? Tips on how to do it? He keeps balling up his hand. I guess I could print the fist

Wait until he's asleep.....that's how we did it.

i tried to do those christmas ornaments where you mix glue, applesauce, and cinnamon together and stamp a hand in it when my son was around 6 months or a bit less.
he just wanted to squeeze the stuff! after a few attempts, i managed to get a few good ones.
i say give it a try, but don't make a huge deal out of it and get upset if it doesn't work. paint is squishy and fun and why would he/she want to keep her hand flat for you when they could squeeze and squish gooey paint between their fingers?

Try using a soft, dry paint brush on the top if his hand- this always made my DD open theirs when they were wee little.

At two months his grasp reflex could still be in effect and he will close his hand whenever something touches it. I worked in the infant room of a daycare and we always did footprints. They are very cute and you don't have to fight to get them. HTH
