what questions would/should i ask an OBGYN?

this is baby number 3 for me so there isnt to much different. i am currently looking to change obgyns so i can go to a different hospital. i dont have a prob with my current doc just the hospital and how it doesnt follow its procedures real well. i had a restriction set up both time i had my other 2 children and the one person i didnt want there got through both times. so i want to try a different hospital to hopefully through my MIL off. i didnt want her to know about this baby but my hubby didnt listen well. so im hoping that since he told her in due in may when im due in april will throw her off and also changing hospital will throw her off. (dont get along with her to well so i dont want her at the hospital. dont go along with the way they like to raise their families as to how i want mine raised. they use drugs and i dont want that for my children)

so anyways what kinds of questions should i ask. im kinda drawing a blank with preggo brain and could use some help. plus things have been very stressful here and i havent really been able to think. : any help would be great. thanks.

Make a list of your important beliefs and desires for prenatal care and birth and ask her/him questions that will give you an idea if that doctor is willing or able to comply. The answers will give you an idea of how comfortable you are with the new doctor.

Other question: how many doctors are in the group, how likely are you to have that doctor for birth vs. another from the group. (There are two docs in my group, mine lives 2 miles from the hospital and doesn't have any time off scheduled in March, she said the likelihood of me having her is almost absolute, which I prefer).

I would ask about c-section rate for the docs and the hospital. Also if you tend to go "late" what is the OBs policy on that (do they induce at 40 weeks, 1 day or do they give a mama some time). If you want a birth without drugs, what is the OBs experience with natural birth.

^I think those are very VERY important things to find out. I made sure to find an office that had a low c-section rate. They did however tend to try to induce at 40weeks, but I wasn't having it! I told them at 39w5d that he would come out when he was ready and if there weren't any complications I would wait until at least 43 weeks for induction. He came right on out at 41w6d, but I was in labor for almost 4 days : .
