Contractions...

So, I've had contractions every 5 to 10 minutes for the last 14 hours! : I gave up sleeping at 4am, after being up three times since I went to bed a midnight. I realized after shopping with my sister that I was having pretty regular contractions, that was 4:30 PM. They kept up, right through making dinner, putting DD to bed, cleaning out the baby's room, going to bed, taking a shower/bath, they are STILL going... Not terribly regular, just when I think that they are stopping, I get another one. Although at one point last night, they stuck at every 6 minutes for a couple of hours. I don't really know what to think! I told DH to go to work, I am not overly optomistic after 14 hours. But I sure hope it turns into something or stops. I am tired and gettting grumpy. Is this considered prodromal labor? I'm 37 weeks and 3 days, so labor is a realisitc possibility at this point. I head bouts of "false labor" with DD but they never lasted longer than an hour or so and the cx were more irregular. I don't remember being confused about what was going on this way! :

I hope it becomes more clear soon what's going on!

I sent my husband to work when I was in early labor with our daughter -- his co-workers thought both of us were nuts. But I couldn't figure out why I'd want him hanging around at home when things weren't progressing very fast.

I even drove myself to the doctor's appointment I already had scheduled for that morning.

Here's a positive spin on it for you...
Whether it's prodromal or not, it's your body prepping for the job ahead. Just think of the work you're getting done without tons of discomfort or pain. :
I know it's frustrating, just hang in there Mamma, your cervix is in there doing something.

Well, they have slowed down and weakened, so looks like I'll be pregnant for a while longer! Thanks for the reminder that they are doing something, be it "real" labor or not. I am just so thankful that my IL's are taking DD this afternoon. After being up all night, tossing and turning, and finally getting out of bed at 4:30AM, I am one tired mama! It's probably a very good think that I am not in labor now, as I got about three hours of sleep last night. I am hopeful though that this is a sign that I might not go 11 days overdue like I did with DD! Now see, as I sat here typing this, I have had two cx in like 7 minutes. What a pain...

In addition to my annoying, irregular cx, I also am nauseus and shivering. I feel like I am getting the flu. I don't know if it is me getting sick or me going into labor causing me to feel sick. I am hoping for the later!

Oh, I hope it's the latter, too! Keep us posted!

How are you doing now? I think that the nausea is a great sign. I got nausea in early labor with DS.

Well, everything is gone today! I'm feeling as normal, well pregnant, as ever. Heading out to do some returns/baby shopping. I'll keep everyone posted but I'm sure it's not gonna be happening today!
