Names??? - Page 3

DH gave me a baby name book for Christmas and we spent Christmas morning reading through all the names as we drove the 3 hours to my mother's house...so much fun.

Our top picks are Addison and Xander for boys and Becca and Beth for girls.

DP and I have had so much fun discussing names. So far, for a girl the contenders are: Anneke, Dara, and Solana. For a boy: Rowan, Curran, Thane.

Middle names?? It's hard enough picking FIRST names. We'll probably go with family names to honor those who have recently passed away.

I know a girl Rowan and a girl Curran. It seems like a lot of boys' names are becoming girls' names. Well, hasn't that been for a while....Kelly, Dana, etc.

My grandmother's maiden name is Curren so I have a cousin named Alexia Curren, but I really like it as a boy's name!

We have been talking about baby names for the 5 years that we've been together! For a boy, it will almost definitely be Ezekiel Steven (Steven after my dad who has 4 daughters and 3 sisters!) If, as dh suspects and my niece is predicting, it is twins, we also like Jonas William for a boy.

For a girl, we love Ezri Mae (Mae the middle name of my grandmother and 2 great-grandmothers). We also both like Georgianna after dh's grandmother who passed away 3 years ago. How cute to have a little girl we could call "George"!

So here's a question: What have/will you all say to people who have something negative to say about the names you pick???

I really like Ezra too. Any ideas for middle names???

The real names are a huge secret! No one but me and DH will know. When people begin to ask about our name choices, we're going to answer consistently, "Wayne for a boy, Barbara for a girl." Because those are just about as far away as you could get from names we would choose (no offense meant to anyone who digs them - I have lovely relatives with these names).

If it's a girl, we plan to name her after my father's mother. I can't imagine telling him ahead of time, it will ruin the surprise!

Do any of you go by your middle name? Or know someone who does? We're considering using my Granny's full name, but having the babe go by the middle name (for example, Hetta Jane going by simply Jane). I'm wondering if this will cause confusion her whole life, though?

I am neither pregnant nor TTC and I already have several names picked out although we aren't going to decide on anything until we have seen her/him.

Girls:
Olivia
Bailey
Alexandra

Boys:
Jack
Alexander
Max (This is actually my favorite, but my fiance hates it. However, I said that if I have triplet boys that one WILL be called Max. He agreed that he wouldn't feel right telling a woman who birthed triplets that one couldn't be called Max).

I don't, but a couple of my good friends do. I don't think it's added too much confusion to their lives. If it did, they never brought it up.

Anneke's a great name!

This is dc#4... so we're all out of names!!!

I do like Ezra, though. We're Jewish, we'll definitely go with something traditional / Biblical... this one has to match the others. :-)

Meanwhile, Wayne / Barbara it is.

Two of my siblings do. My sister Rebecca Brooke goes by Brooke and my brother Arnold Paul goes by Paul.

The only confusion caused is when my brother put his filled out some paperwork incorrectly on some official things so now in his work place he must go by Arnold instead of Paul...but in his social life he's Paul.

Boy is Carter Hansen, but we cannot agree on a girls name. It seems like that is a common theme here. Why is it so hard to name girls? My dh doesn't like any name. I had a big list that I loved and would be happy with and he nixed them all. But we are trying one on for size right now:
Cadence Elizabeth. I really like it but I'm not 100% yet.

WE HAVE picked a boy name!! Of course it's a secret, but it's picked!!

We are clueless for a girl... Good thing we have nine more months, eh??

Anyone have a good middle name for STORY?
I love it as a name but what goes well with it. I like to do family middle names but they all sound so plain next to such a diff. name. Does Story Elizabeth sound to wierd or what? I can't decide. That's my middle name.

If it is a girl, we will name her Alethea Margaret. Margaret is my grandmother's name.

I'm still undecided about the boy's name. Being in the 100 most popular names in the last few years will definitely get a name excluded in my book!

I don't think it's weird. I think it goes good together. Unique too. I like it.
