Sarah, I am amazed by your strength. You and your dear Asa are true survivors. And your Gracie sounds like such a wonderful big sister!

Your dh's response angers me. I am hoping that he is reacting to the trauma, and will mellow with time and healing. Continuing to send lots of healing to your whole family.

Has anyone heard any news about Autumn Faune and her family recently? I am unable to locate/link to her birth story she posted and did not see any other updates. Still thinking of and praying for her and family, I'm sure she is extremely busy with all the appointments for Asa. Hoping she is being loved IRL.

It was so traumatic and personal that I requested it be deleted rather than moved to a public forum.

He is GEORGEOUS! He reminds me of my brother who was almost 11lb at birth. You are truly blessed with a lovely family, and Gracie does look proud to be a big sister. Congratulations on being home and having your family all together again. If you don't mind sharing, please keep us posted about how things are going for you all. Still sending lots of goodness your way, and I do hope you are being loved and supported IRL.

Sarah, he is so beautiful and alert!! And SO big! He was as big at birth as my DD was at 6 weeks, and DD was not a petite baby! I love the picture of him looking up at grandma... his eyes are beautiful.

Do let us know how things are going.. Gosh, from the pictures I'd say the little guy is doing just fabulous! Gracie looks like she is settling in as well!

Congrats!

An update for you all...

Let's see, birth was pretty fast labor-wise, we had a severe shoulder dystocia, meconium aspiration, lost the heartbeat for half a minute or so, he didn't try to breathe on his own for nearly 45 min. Asa Gilbert was 11lb 8oz several hours later, after 5-6 meconium diapers, a helicopter ride, and being stabilized in NICU. (actually he was stable when he got there, and started seizing in the first 20 minutes after arrival.) I had a 1st degree skin-only tear, but a partially ruptured symphysis and a dislocated tailbone. I did lose about a liter of blood, so ended up having 2 transfusions.
Asa went from 20+ hours straight of screaming and seizing, to nonresponsive to anything, but after a week was nursing and released. We've been seeing doctors since, I swear, every one in the state.

Anyways, now have a month-old on anticonvulsants just to be safe, physical therapy twice a day, weekly ped. visits, and a very rowdy 2 year old.

Oh, Sarah I am so sorry. That is truly horrible about dh. I am just so sorry That is the last thing you need!

I am hoping this will turn out well for you. That you and your children will end up in a better, brighter, healthier situation. I will continue to keep you and your children in my thoughts.

Just remember Sarah -

This is not your fault.

You have plenty of company... this happens to very good people much more often than it should.

You're not alone. And you are strong enough to do this.

I am so, so sorry about your husband's betrayals. I wish you all the strength in the world as you go forward from here.
