Ok, I've finally got my butt in gear!!

Packed away a tubby full of at least 20 toys for garage sale in spring.
Went through a bunch of me and hubby's clothes: I'll say 35, but that's quite an underestimate...packed for garage sale.
Tossed 6 old magazines.
Cleaned out a drawer, got rid of an old babybrush, 5 sippy cup pieces, 2 random pieces of paper, a broken crayon: 9 items.
Returned 8 Tupperware containers to MIL.
Tossed two old pillows, a pair of shoes that my friend's dog has chewed a hole through, a pair of sandals that the heel broke off, and one lonely work boot of DH's.

Previous Total: 18/150
New Total: 94/150

I have been looking at this thread wondering if I should really commit, so here goes! I'm setting a pretty modest goal for Jan. since it is almost over! I already started cleaning out the nursery! I'm setting my goal for 100 items this month. What constitues as an item? If I'm going through filing cabinets does each piece of paper count? Anyway I'm excited to have some accountablility here!
(sorry for gross misspellings! It's late!)

Over the past week I cleared out 1 bag of garbage and 1 bag of recycling from the master bedroom. Now maybe I can get in there and clear out some stuff for the Good Will. I also sent away a rocking horse that I trip over about 10 times a day but only gets played with about once a month. That puts me up to 18/20 bags/boxes. I have one more bag and one box started for the good will but they aren't full yet.

Off to tackle clothes!
Threw out:
chipped bowl
ship in bottle (kind of broke)

Donated 106 items of clothing

Trashed 75 items myself, dh trashed 100

So.....530 items to go. I still have bags of clothes to count

Hit the laundry room and threw out another 29 items. I won't list them all here but it was an assortment of old cleaning products, empty ice cream buckets, socks with holes in them and some mismatched pacemats.

5 more toys. I beat my goal! 304/300 and lots more to go!

Even though my house doesn't look any different, I have freed up numerous big tupperware storage containers and cupboards, and the attic. So we have a lot of empty space that I can move things into. it is kind of depressing that after all that, just by looking, you can't even tell all the work I have been doing.

Don't feel bad itsy, as you keep going eventually you will be able to SEE a difference. A lot of folks take before and after pics.

Went to goodwill this morning and dropped off two things. (1 box full of clothes and a laundry hamper that has been in every room of the house and just doesn't work for us)

getting close...
off to update my sig now.

Sorta OT but yk, i find myself doing as much re-organizing as de-cluttering and despite what flylady says about "you can't organize clutter" sometimes when i get it organized it is no longer clutter.

mamas!

itsybitsy, I kinda feel the same way. I was just talking to my dh last night about it. I asked him if our house felt 833 items lighter, he said no. Things look better, I do have many empty boxes, but not by much.
Anyway, going to try and get some more things done today. I am not sure if I am going to make my 5th revised goal, but I am happy with what i have gotten done so far. I went through my clothes again, this is really hard since I am pregnant, but I had to honestly think, will I wear this again? I will be nursing again for at least I will say 2 years, so if it isn't nursing friendly, gone. Why should I hang onto these things? Maybe after my 7 or so years of nursing I will go out and get myself a new wardrobe of totally nursing unfriendly clothes, like dresses, for now, it just makes me sad...
So 27 more items from my closet.
Hoping to get the car done today also and go through the garage a little and tackle some boxes.

I feel the same way. I don't see much of a difference at this point. Although a lot has gone out the door.

1 stuffed animal
1 plastic baby toy
1 dried up marker
10 books
1 answering machine
1 broken phone
1 cassette tape
1 cat litter box
1 box of cat litter
1 empty lock box
1 old picture frame
1 pile of junk from purse
1 photo album
2 baby books
1 box of old bills and paperwork

Total 303/300 I did it!

Now let's see how much more I can get rid of by the 31st.
