But it is really hard for her hands to knead the clay. Does anyone know a softer brand? So far we are usingthe clay from the Deluxe Pottery Wheel box from Toys R Us.

unfortunately it will never be as soft as that. You can get different clay that can cook in the oven from most craft stores, but I can't vouch for it's softness.
I did not even know that there was oven fired clay. We always used kiln fired and I just assumed that's all there was! I really wanted to make some bowls with dd.. can you tell me a little more? Can I just buy it at the local craft store? How does it work?
