Well, I had progesterone test when i first started getting treated. My progesterone is low, and since i have PCOS... will be a factor when I do conceive. It is more so a percaution than anything... Just like continuing Met thru the first trimester to have a 50% less chance of misscarriage... Low progesterone is also a know cause of miscarriage. My dr said the clomid and metformin should help with my hormone imbalance and with the production of progesterone, but alot of times with PCOS, we still don't produce enough to support a pregnancy. When the progesterone drops it signals for AF... and causes your body to abort the pregnancy. I don't want to take that chance.

Well, it seems like it's time for me to join this thread. Hubby and I have been TTC #1 since 10/05. I never thought it would take this long. My mom warned me as a teenager to be careful because she got pregnant easily. I'm just barely turning 26 so my age is supposed to be on my side.

I've had an HSG - clear - and some bloodwork - all within normal range. I have put off going to an RE because the nearest one to me is at least an hour drive from me and because I was hoping it'd happen on its own. I have an appointment set up for two weeks from today.

I've also been seeing an acupuncturist for about three months now - she believes I have a Kidney Yang definiciency. I've seen some improvements on my chart but no BFP yet.

hey beemama! how are you feeling?

Meggles, thanks again for linking us! It's so nice to have you grads check in with us! I remember all that time ago when we were all still hanging on The One Thread!

I'm doing fiiiiiine... : Been checking in on the thread, but don't want to get too much into the 2ww hype. I've only got a few days left to mine, and things are... looking up. I'm not even worried if I do get AF this month... I know my baby is near. I can feel her!

Hello everyone! I am brand spankin new to the mothering.com forums, but I figured this was a great place for me to start.

DH and I have been TTC our first since May 2004. In June 2005 i had an HSG, and a whole slew of bloodwork(along with DH getting testing) and was diagnosed as not ovulating. We did 3 rounds of clomid, with no luck. Then in October my gp diagnosed me with with Type 2 Diabetes, which was the cause of me not ovulating. So i went on Metformin and went about trying to get everything under control. I lost 30 lbs, and in June, I started doing clomid and metformin. I was ovulating, but my LP was too short. In August, I switched RE's and he said that my short lps were due to progestrone issues and started me on progesterone supp. I'm now in the 2ww(10 DPO) of my 6th cycle in a row of Clomid/met/progresterone. If this cycle doesn't work, we're going to try IUI next cycle.
DH has a DS, who just turned 5. We have him 4 days on, 3 days off, and have since he was 16 months old.

well that's my situation! Almost 3 yrs of TTC, with no luck

Wow there has been lots going on since I've been able to do any personals. I'll try my best to catch up!

Tiara how are you doing? In the midst of all this celebrating I've been thinking about you.

Jennifer how are you feeling? Have you been to the doctor/midwife yet?

Ocean your chart looks great! Lily's does too! I hope we can see some green lines soon.

Leslie in C what a great post. You sound like you're in a good place right now. A ring and feeling ready to adopt all in one vacation sounds wonderful. Please keep us updated on what you decide next.

Welcome Crystal! I hope you have a short stay.

pampered mom I'm really sorry about the HSG. I really don't know much about PCOS but wanted to comment on your right tube. When I had my HSG in Sept. they couldn't see fluid coming out of either tube! I had a lap in Dec and they were both clear. If your doctor really thinks you need a lap, I'd push to get it scheduled sooner rather than later since it can take some time. I was really nervous about getting it done, but it was pretty easy.

Laura if you're still following us - how are you? Are you showing yet?

Heather I started using a Diva cup two months ago and love it. It works really well.

11yrs sorry about af

Welcome Allison! Looks like you're joining quite a few of us that have no answers. Hope your acupuncture helps. I was going for about four months but stopped due to lack of $$ and frustration. I might start again next month.

Meg congratulations on your new baby!!! I love her name. Happy babymooning!

Celeste your swatchy blog is hilarious. My heart almost stopped when I saw your nieces name. That is my nieces name too - well she is known as Marrim or Marmalade here in Canada. Your Ting-ting is beautiful!

Welcome stepmomma hope you don't have to stay long. Good luck waiting the next few days.

Hi Marlee, ItyBty, folabole, funnygrace, mamma mia and anyone else I may have missed.

Whew ok that's enough posting for one night! Nothing new here. I think bd fest is over thankfully! Now to wait the next two weeks.......

Love you, Celeste! Keep calling her in! She IS close!
I'm starting to feel a bit pg, a little green around the gills, bloated & sometimes falling asleep sitting up. I have my first app't. tomorrow. I've decided to see an OB for prenatal care, esp. in the beginning... the midwife takes CASH and I would like to get further along before I fork out a fee.

Hey, meggles posted pics of their sweet little girl!

Welcome StepMomma, hope your stay is short & sweet!

Everybody! Hope you're staying warm!

Welcome allisonrose and StepMomma! Hope your stay here is very short!

11yrs - so sorry for the new cycle, but this could be the one! :

celesterra - I've got my : for you!

lesliesara - Thanks for the encouraging news about the lap. It's certainly something I'm going to keep in mind. However, we just found out for sure that we will be going from a very nice health plan to one that is basically *&!#. It's an HDP with a $5200 family deductible so there's no way we'll be getting anything major for a very long time. Dh's job situation really stinks right now. The only bright side is that he's got an application out for a very nice job with much nicer benefits so we're : big time that he gets it! We'll be looking for other jobs as well, but are REALLY hoping for this one! Sending you lots of vibes for your tww!

I'm sure that I'm missing someone, but know that I'm thinking of all of you!

Yes, I'm still hanging around quietly. I'm almost 19 weeks and I feel HUGE- Baby is kicking some now- which is reassuring. After the long ttc journey I'm very tenative about everything and wishing I could be more relaxed- I suppose eventually...

I'm cheering you all on! B-D, B-D- go, Go, GO

Still here, and no dr/mw appointment yet. It takes a while to get in to see a mw here but the truth is, I haven't called yet. I am still poas (ic's) and they are DARK but haven't gotten much darker in a few days. And my bb's were hurting every evening but now have stopped. So I am thinking this may be over for me. I am mostly just sad and scared. :-(

I'm sure most people here would be thrilled to see a bfp, but for me, that doesn't seem to be a sure thing anymore. (the first three WERE!)
No af yet, though, so I'm officially "late", and temps still high... but last time with a mmc my temps stayed high until after the d&c, so I know it's all meaningless...

GL to those embarking on new cycles! And of course to Laura & Meg - it's great that you stop back in to check on those of us still in the TTC trenches...
Jennifer- I just had to offer you a . Have you had your progesterone and other homrone levels checked in the past? Sorry if you posted all about it and I missed it- but with a history like yours- I think you should look into lots of blood work to check for issues. (I had low progesterone as a result of long term nursing, and had to take it through the first trimester after I had bleeding early on) I hope all is well and sticky!
Jennifer~ Another hug, so sorry you're scared & sad ! I looked at your chart, did you start bleeding? It may not be too late, can you go to the ER? Maybe they could check your hormone levels? Repeat m/c is so scary, I've had 2 & this pregnancy is so hard to believe at times. Huge s! Please keep us posted... Praying for a baby for you!

I had my first OB appt & they were going to have me come back in March for my first u/s... but I told them my fears of a blighted ovum/miscarriage & they're running quants on me. I went to the hospital to have the first draw & the nurse said "oh, you were already here today!" and i said "no".... she said "I'm sorry, it was 1/19/06!" .
That was the last hcg from my miscarriage last year. One year to the day later, going in for my first hcg. I have the second draw on Monday, they're not going to call me until they get both in... praying for good #'s!
Dh's birthday is Tuesday, it would be so sad if we had bad news. But, I knew it would drive me nuts to wait until March to find out anything.
Aside from that, I'm staying positive... really I am!!

oh my, that must have been hard to be reminded of this day last year! I'm glad you are there for a much better reason this year. I'm sure Tuesday will be a day for celebrating not only dh's life but the life of the little one inside you too! I hope each week brings you more and more peace!

beemama: : for your and excellent #'s!! I can imagine how hard it is to believe that this is the pregnancy that's going to stick. I'm hoping it is, though and I'm thinking ++ thoughts for you.

lesliesara: I am doing fine. Still feeling weird because I'm really kinda hopeful for the future. We're going to be celebrating our 6 year anniversary next month, and technically that's 6 years of ttc. So, for me to have just gotten our first bfp in over 6 years, is huge. I just have to take my supplements to get my hormones balanced so our next bfp leads to a .

In other news my mil called yesterday to interject her own special brand of crazy into our lives (again). She wants dh to go to her house this weekend to discuss 'financial' matters. I'm thinking the worst, that she expects us to invite her to live with us or pay her bills (not happening) - but hoping for the best. I trust dh. But there is a reason that I'm a member of an in-laws support group. The bottom line is that our extra bedroom is for future kids, not crazy, overbearing, hypochondriac mil's. And now that we're closer than ever to , we're more adamant about this than ever. But her constantly pulling him in her direction is such a strain on dh. It ruins his mood for days. Wish I could do something about it, but it's not a position that I put him in ever, so what can I do? Like I said, hoping for the best.

Time to bump

We slipped on to page 2... I like the slow pace...

Hello 12+ monthers--Happy Saturday night! It looks like I'm 2dpo maybe... This chart is a little more confusing than my charts generally are. But I think the opk and cm point to ovulation on cd13. I've been inside all day and I have a chance to go to a party. But I'm not sure it will be much fun without drinking... I'll have a drink for sure, but I'd kind of rather not. Hummm... This cycle we found my cervix on CD 12. It was open and we used a syringe to put semen around it. Can't hurt... It definitely made me want to try at-home IUI. Seems so easy. If anyone else has experience giving an IUI or getting one from their partner would you mind sharing? How fastidious were you about things being sterile?

beemama: Many positive sticky thoughts for you. <--that baby has a red magnet that is attracted to your endometrial lining. The timing of your appointment is amazing... that must have been difficult.

fierrbugg: Your attitude is contagious... I think the bfp step is a big deal... And no roommate MIL! How did the talk between DH and MIL go?

Hi Folaboye! Are you Oing?

J3fer--I'm so sorry about CD 1.

OTMomma--Thanks for the baby dust--you were very generous and I'm sure we are all soaking it up!

Hello to everyone else! Dinner is ready I think and it smells pretty good!
