I will snap pics of my altar tomorrow or tuesday. Gilli took a big spill tonight and has a cut and large lump on her head. nurse line said she would need the typical head injury check, so I will not get any sleep tonight.

she is doing fine now but mom and dad are drained.
oldest dd is having a tough time, she pulled sissy down and that is how she got hurt.

Ode- *hugs*

Imbolic plans are as such: making bread from circle round book, collecting snow and ice chunks to put in our bowl, buying a ceremonial bow, lighting candles and reading the story in circle round. I am trying to keep it simple since this is my first attempt at "really" doing a ritual with the girls.

anyone have some chocolate? I did eat a chicken finger wrap...with everything...gotta love stress eating. :

OTJ Hope taking a break helps you destress a little.. hope you pop in to see us now & again though!

I hardly know what to do with myself with Lucas at school there's nobody for Connor to fight with He's been very cuddly and affectionate this morning which is nice.. and there is just no nap happening which worries me because we have to walk up to school & back at 2pm (its just after 12 now & I can't get him to sleep to save his life *sigh*) So I'm going to have to take the backpack & wear Quinn if I can concoct a way to keep his HAT on his HEAD (duct tape maybe? ) so I can push Connor in the pram when he gives it up

Send me energy mama's I'm gonna need it LMAO it's a fairly long walk!!

You know, I'm going to get a digital camera this weekend. I've freaking earned it!! I want to share pics too.

OTJ, I hope you're still popping in and reading this thread. Ignore the rest. Or drop snippy bombs randomly. That works too.

I cleaned for HOURS today. I have a need to purify the house this weekend.
Our digital cam was the best money we've spent in recent years I think! Go for it, I think everyone with children really needs one Wanna come purify my house too? It's still a minor bomb zone after the birthday party... I've almost got it back in line, but have lost motivation hehehe. Am having coffee & cookies while the little ones nap for 45mins or so (yeah, connor went to sleep at 1250 the little stinker!) Going to enjoy this few minutes then get walkin. Later ladies
post #526 of 583
Oooo Cari, we're snacking together but I'm having ice cream!

I'll clean for you. I actually love mopping the floors. :
I love mopping my floors too hehehe... I use an enjo mop so it's a zip zip zip DONE!

Just got in a bit ago from getting Lucas from school.. he missed me : what a good boy he is! The walk to & from nearly did me in.. and Connor & Quinn were wilting in the heat too (connor rode up in the stroller, quinn in backpack then I let connor walk so I could have a break) so I'm not sure what I'm going to do! :

Cari- love the desk. DS is adorable and quite proud of his present!

OTJ- hope you come back soon. Sometimes things do get pretty intense on this board. just a little too estrogen can make the virtual roof blow off!

Jenni- I am having visions of your plants turning into to big "Audrey II" ish plants! Have others done this and seen the effect on plants? I am really curious. (I used to work in a green house as a kid so the science part of growing plants has always interested me. Don't give me a house plant though! They do not last. Thank god(dess) for dh.)

Cari- great desk.

All is well this morning. We did get some sleep. Gilli is herself.

mopping floors!

im my quest to keep my home clean and organized, i have managed to get my kids to work together to mop the kitchen every week for the last 2 weeks!
They get to play with water, and wear shorts and tank tops in January! The floor gets pretty clean too! I go along the edges and any spots that need extra, but they have fun and it saves me some work!

OH! check out the icicles that are on the side of our house.

Great One's help us!!!

Just to give a little background info a couple of years ago a witch school opened in the area. They bought and old theater in a little town not too far from where I live and there was a whole stink about it in the little town.... yadda.... yadda... yadda. I for one was sure if their choice of town was the best but figured if the location is fairly cheap to buy etc and they are willing to put in the time to fight for their right to do so ........ I wasn't going to say yeah or nay. I don't use the school, don't plan on using the school but others might find their path go there.

Fast forward to now......

Dh just called to announce that a reality show was coming to the area. And told me a town name. It is the the same town as where the witch school moved to. It's going to be aired on the Scif-fi channel. :
Then Dh announced that the subject of the reality show is going to be the witch school! :
This *can't* be a good thing! The dust from the issues of the school going in hasn't been settled for that long and now it looks like it's all going to be stirred up again. The area pagan community was pulled into the mess last time, it seems that we'll most likely get pulled into the mess this time. :

I'm so not looking forward to this. I might remove myself from the local pagan email list now.

How could a reality show put a positive spin on witches? *oy* I don't believe that any publicity is better than none. I don't watch reality t.v. but many people do and now the pagan community could have the potential to be shown in a negative way.

Paganmum- sending positive light your way!
pagunmum, I can't believe the school agreed to be on the show! Can I ask what town it's in? (Feel free to PM me if you don't want to post publicly.)

Well, ladies, my baby will be 3 in April, and I cut her hair for the first time last night. It was past her shoulders and uneven and always getting tangled, so we knew it was time. She loves it and called it her "pretty hair" and keeps telling me to cut it again. I kept a lock for her baby book, but I don't know what to do with the rest. All I've thought of so far was spreading it in my garden or burning it in the fireplace. Any ideas?

here is a blurb from the local paper.

Errr...gotta love those SciFi shows.

Reminds me of the show SciFi tried a while ago called Mad Mad House. It was a reality "survival" show kind of like Big Brother. But the people in the hosue were all representing "alternative" life styles. And one of them was Fiona Horne, a fairly well know "celeb witch". If I recall, the show didn't do too well. I read the article above and I wonder if this new show will actually make it past the development phase?

According to the SciFi "in development" website
Quote:
Witch School is a "docusoap" about a school for aspiring conjurers.
and from their announce page
Quote:
Witch School isn't your daddy's Hogwarts. The project is described as a docusoap about Ed Hubbard and his real Witch School. From Sci Fi Channel and Stick Figure Productions
But the forum chatter there is that most of the shows on the "announce" thread wont actually make it to air...

I wonder why the "witch school" decided to participate in the program if they really don't know how the show is going to be focused?

clay- I just noticed you are over 20 weeks!
Yup! Just barely, but technically in my 21st week!

And it's funny...at the library where I work the "due date" for books is 6 months in the future. So every time I check out a book and they say "due in July" I have to resist saying "nope, June".

Awww... that's seriously cute!

I love it when I go to the store while greatly pregnant and the milk is dated far after my EDD.

*laughs*

everyone have plans for Imbolic?
I can only imagine the angle of that sci fi channel show. It's not likely to be good. Shudder. :

I'm going to be making butter for Imbolc and purifying the house/around the house. I'll love lighting up all the candles! It's so pretty.
