help convincing dh not to circ - Page 2

You have to have it done "for him"? Ask him WHY...how does it benefit HIM that you need to have it done for HIM!!

My husband was pro circ, until we watched a video together of the procedure and babies cries. After that video, he looked at me with his eyes welled up in tears, and said there is no way a son of ours would go through that procedure.

Now we think our newborn nephew (who's mom we tried to convince to not circ), was exposed to HIB while being circ'ed. He's in NICU with meningitis, recieving a cat scan at this moment to assess brain damage.

Just had to share that....invasive procedures involve more risk than meets the eye.

Oh my goodness, that's awful...Hope the parents learned their lesson even at the expense of their sweet precious babe. How sad....

I wouldn't bet on it with the way most Americans think. I remember a story posted here a while back where the baby almost bled to death and the parents were STILL glad they circ'd and planned to circ any future boys!

Except that couple was from Canada, I believe.
(not that that changes your point in the least, though, I agree)

Yeah, sadly this will not affect their stance on circ-ing. They aren't even angry with the hospital. :
