What else is new?

Ugh, we rang in the new year sick...all of us have nasty colds and Charlie is teething on top of it so she's pretty miserable. We watched Dawson's Creek and ate turkey sandwiches. Very exciting

We went roller skating, went out to eat, toasted the new year with plastic champagne glasses and sparkling cider, played Disney Scene It (girls against boys - I know Louis was a big help to the boys' team! ), watched "Freaky Friday," watched the ball drop, and then went to bed. Do we know how to party or what? I hope my pictures turn out - I got some cute ones of the kids with their festive New Year's hats and tiaras!

We ate baked potato wedges, tofu hot dogs, and mushroom barley soup. Invited my mother over for dinner. Played Chutes & Ladders, Cariboo, 1/2 a ganme of Scrabble. Ate mint chocolate chip Tofutti Cuties for dessert and toasted with sparkling grape jucie. Stayed up until 10pm and played 2 games of Tsuro with my husband and mounted some rubber stamps.
Not all bad!

Hey, how's the sleep going? Has Aria been letting you get any more rest than a few months ago? I'm always thinking of you in the middle of the night if I have to wake up!

Hey - I thought *I* was the most boring mom in her 20's!! Seriously, I went to bed at 11:40 that night (the longest I've been up in a while).

Dh's birthday was yesterday (1/1), so I we had a casual dinner party for about 10 people. the food was yummy! And the company was nice.

another 20 something boring momma here!!! DH and I had house guests - his uncle, my mom and aunt and we ALL went to bed before the ball dropped! I think I crashed around 10

I made it to about 12:01. ROFL

We just hung out here, too. Ate a great candlelight meal (with no baby! He slept the whole time), watched a movie, watched the peach drop (I'm in Atlanta, after all ), had a glass of wine. It was great.

this was the first time I saw midnight on new years for a long time...we were in bed, but hey, we were awake!

we've recently moved to NJ to be near my family, and it's been a lot of fun. we saw them on xmas, and also on new years where we played a few mean games of yahtzee! lame but fun

glad the holidays are over and i can go back to eating my boring food...DS will really appreciate it

we celebrated with a cheese fondue picnic and champagne in front of the fire. dd was asleep.

we were in bed by 1015pm.

i embarassed to say that even before dd we always celebrated new orleans style. (we are in the pacific time zone...two hours later than new orleans.)

what's new here?

we are starting to do a little travelling. we took calliope to new york to meet one of her granddads. we then flew down to the caribbean for some sea, sand and sun. this month we're taking her down to san diego to meet her greatgrandpa and greatgrandma. they are in their 90s.

so far, she is better at flying than i am as long as she has my boob in her mouth. i don't know if any of you saw or participated in the nurse in in november to protest delta's treatment of a breastfeeding mother. we did and it was so worth it. we would not be able to travel without breastfeeding.

what else? after five months, i finally feel like i have 85% of my body back in shape. the hardest part is finding time to workout. cruddy weather doesn't help much either.

happy new year mamas!
