Drying sheets and towels with no clothes dryer

We hang almost all of our clothes to dry on drying racks adn then pop them in the dryer for about 10 minutes to fluff, soften and get rid of some wrinkles. I do use the clothes dryer for sheets and towels. I would like to avoid this but come wintertime it's difficult. Hanging on the outdoor line is not possible as I would have to wade through 2-3 feet of snow and the sheets would just freeze before drying anyways. I don't like the "crunchiness" of hung towels. We don't have much room to hang stuff up so the thought of spreading out 2-3 beds worth of sheets to dry isn't appealing. Plus we only really have one set of sheets per bed so I need them to dry that day so they're ready for that night. What do you do with your sheets and towels?

sometimes i mix towels in with other clothes so I don't have to rack dry a whole load of towels....but usually I do what you do machine dry only towels/sheets and diapers.
I can't wait for warmer weather so I can line dry everything again

In my old apartment, when space for drying was limited, we installed a hanging bar above our bathtub. We hung two plant hooks, and took an old broomstick and tied about a foot of rope to each end. Then we hung the rope loops from the plant hooks. We kept the bar in the closet, and since the plant hooks were the same color as the ceiling (white), it was not noticiable.

I'm not sure how well this would work for sheets, but it worked great for towels.

I just throw sheets over interior doors or a shower rod to dry.

I dry towels over shower rods usually. Yep, they are crunchy, but DH is learning to live with it. Especially when he saw the lowered electric bill. And they are only super cruchy until used once.

I was just going to suggest the door thing, but raleigh_mom beat me to it! Works well for us, as long as you wash them first thing in the morning and then remember to flip and rotate them during the day. If I forget that part, I always end up with dry sheets with a wet spot somewhere. Could you maybe not wash all your sheets at once? I'm just thinking that depending on your living space, you might not have enough doors for 3-4 sets of sheets to be drying at once (we don't!).

You and my dh both . They drive me crazy! I'm sure I have enough doors to hang them over. I just have to come up with a new routine. Right now I wash sheets and towels on Fridays. So, I obviously need to split that up or else my house would be covered with towels/sheets. I've just been doing that for so long and it works so well.

Thanks for all the responses.
