GF/Dairy Free Options for Anxiety and Stress relief

This last year we've been going through some big stuff here (built a house, dh job change, dc's allergies etc). Anyways, I had been taking some of Boiron's homeopathic stuff for those things, but now that we have diagnosed allergies I am not going to take those little pills because they have lactose in them.... I also have tried Bach Flower essence but am not sure if they are Gluten Free since they are in grain alcohol.

Can anyone recommend another form of anxiety and stress relief. Something that doesn't come in lactose or grain alcohol's???

TIA!

If the alcohol is distilled it is gluten-free. The distillation procees removes the grain protein. Are you getting enough B vitamins, omega-3 fatty acids, sleep and exercise. Oh, and water. All are very important to your mental health. D and C are important too. Zinc has been shown to be important. Have you had your thyroid checked, B-12 levels and blood sugar? All are important in mental health.

The best thing for me and stress relief is yoga. I feel your pain. I am battling depression and anxiety issues and am GFDF and have malabsorption issues.

Hey, thanks for taking the time to respond! I have heard the thing about the grain being distilled, but for some reason I'm a little cautious about using them because I thought there had been reactions before. I may consider trying it again.

The vitamins/nutrition piece truly is important. I don't think I do enough along those lines. I do have a multivitamin, and beyond that I'm not sure how much more of anything I should try.

I've been thinking about getting out my old pilates dvd's and maybe I'll try one of dh's yoga ones too.

I did find the other day that there was something called "Anxiety Relief" by Natural Care that is lactose free. The only other ingredient it says is dextrose... I need to check what that is exactly, but their website doesn't say anything about wheat or gluten etc. And I don't know as far as law goes if these kinds of supplements need to be labeled as well as food in terms of if it contains an allergen.

I'm GFDF and I haven't had a reaction from the alcohol based remedies, and I'm super sensitive You can buy homeopathics in a liquid form instead of the pillules.

I take Floravital which is an iron/b vitamin complex, it's GFDF (make sure you get Floravital, not Floradix), and it definitely helps. I also take fish oil daily, Nordic Naturals brand, and a magnesium supplement.

Thanks for the tip and insight. The thing is I've been having weird health problems that I won't get into for the sake of TMI So I'll have to try those things again and look into other explanations for the health concerns.

I guess there's just too much to figure out when it comes to being allergy detective... like how can anybody narrow it down??!?? there are so many things we consume throughout the day, and by the time we have a reaction (usually that night) it's as mystery exactly what it was... if in fact it was something we ate that day.

ANyways, thanks for the tips on the relief options...
