does anyone have any great recipes they could share? any tips or hints would be great too.

I just found one that is one part citric acid mixed with three parts baking soda (mix really well to avoid clumps), add a bit of coloring if desired (it recommended powdered), essential oil, then spritz with witch hazel until it sticks together when compressed. Too much witch hazel will cause it to start fizzing to be careful. My problem is I don't know where to get citric acid. I looked in several stores this morning and I haven't a clue.

I haven't looked too hard myself, but I've heard that stores that carry homebrewing supplies should have the powdered citric acid, and that it's pretty easy to get online as well.

I searched this forum for citric acid and found references to beer making stores so I sent my husband out looking for some. My four year old can't wait for an online delivery .

Update - My husband went to the beer supply store and found the citric acid! We made the bath bombs this afternoon and used them in the bath already. Be prepared to smoosh it into the molds quickly because it dries fast and sticks to your fingers. There's some bubbling involved when misting the water to mix but I just kept squishing it with my hand and it went away. I used a jello bean mold to make little fizzies but we ended up throwing like 10 in the bath because they were too small.

I"ve been looking into making these and trying my hand at melt/pour soapmaking too. That is why I first came to this forum - to get info on soaps.

I had found this site that had recipes for bath bombs:
Bath Bombs

Looks like fun.

thanks for the tips. :

I guess what I am looking for though, something that would bubble not so much fizz (kind of like a LUSH bubble bar?)

I am going to start a new thread...
