Asked to cover up and move in a HFS! - Page 3

Tiffany,

I just wanted to go off topic for a minute about this guy's fat comment to you and your dd. I saw your picture and personally I don't think you are fat. Your dd is definately not fat or too chubby at all, you both look perfect (whatever that is). I am a size 16 and I eat great and workout every freaking day! I am big, my dd is big (she'snot fat or chubby) some peopel are just big.

I would think twice about approaching the NS management again with more information about this guy and what he said to you, even if it was long ago. You don't need to make a big stink but I think if the store manager or the regional manager knew what he said to a loyal customer they may take quicker action.

i am a size 24/26. thats BIG. but thank you very much. i'm glad i dont look as big as i am in pics
Addy is tall. and always has been a fluffy/chubby kid. even more so when she was younger. she is a BIG kid.
but still it was REALLY unwarranted, and hurtful.

Hi, my name is Amanda Nelson, I'm the Wellness Education Coordinator for New Seasons Market, I'm the one who is in charge of setting up our schedule of guest lecturers and our New Parent and Breastfeeding Support Groups. I just got home from being with family for the holidays and I'm catching myself up on what's been happening. I'm so bummed out that this happened at one of our stores! I want to send a big apology to everyone who has been touched by this and I'd also like to thank everyone who has shown support.

I'd like to invite all of you that live in Portland to come to our New Parent and Breastfeeding Support Group that is scheduled for Tuesday Jan 9th from 9:00-10:00am at the Cedar Hills store. I'll bring tea and organic snacks and you can bring the breastmilk. If you know anyone with new babies, please let them know about our group, it's just starting and we'd like to get the word out. You can find details at the New Seasons Market website: www.newseasonsmarket.com - click the "classes" link on the left hand side of the home page or see below.

I hope to meet some of you in person on Tuesday!

All the best - Amanda

Tiffany, how do I get to the PDX thread. I'd love for your friend to come. I have two daughters that nursed until they were nearly 4. I nursed the first through the second pregnancy and tandem nursed for a couple of years. I love to help people find ways to have the nursing relationship they are hoping for - so send your friend our way. I welcome families with older children too, I find that the reassurance and advice from experienced parents is more helpful than any book or expert's opinion, so feel free to come join us too.
