Yes!! I was getting that feeling too, but I thought maybe I was reading too much into it. He seems totally normal and competent and totally creepy at the same time right? They made such a big deal about "who is Keppler" so is it because he's a psycho or because they wanted drama/interest over a new cast member? :

I am only really familiar with Liev from Kate and Leopold and I know he was in the Scream series. Loved his "Stuart" in Kate & Leopold. I think his Keppler is pretty intriguing.

I generally really like Liev. He was in The Hurricane with Denzel Washington, The Sum of All Fears with Ben Affleck, Kate & Leopold, of course. I thought he usually plays good guys, so this creepy character is new to me.

He's TOTALLY creepy. Something is just "off" ya know? You can't really put your finger on it, but it's there. ETA: I actual really like Liev as an actor. I've mainly seen him being the good guy other than that wierd movie with Rose McGowen and Ben Affleck that for the life of me I can't remember the name of. He was uber creepy in that movie!

On another topic - was anyone REALLY surprised at all that the dollhouse killer is still around? I mean, come on, it was totally obvious that it was not the guy they said it was. No motive, all to quick and convenient. As soon as I saw that episode I was like "Nope, they are after the wrong guy..."

In this week's Entertainment Weekly there is an interview with Liev and he mentions that his character will be "redemptive" instead of "tragic" as had originally been planned by the writers.

I also love that the dollhouse killer is still around. The episode where they got the train guy was totally unsatisfying.

I love me some Grissom too! It's just not quite right without him is it?

So what do you all think about the preview for the next episode. Keppler and Catherine decieve the rest of the team? They show Nick telling everyone that they can't trust Keppler or Catherine. Acck! I hate it when the team is at each other.

Yes! Me too. I wonder if they are 'testing the waters' to see if viewers like Keppler enough to replace Grissom. And they want to slowly transition Grissom out and Kippler in. I hope not!!

Would you all keep on watching if they phased out Grissom? Me....I'm not sure. I might watch it every once in awhile but I won't go out of my way like I do now.

We don't get previews until a couple days before it airs so I can't comment on that.

I would still watch, but they would have to have someone different than Keppler to interest me and it wouldn't be the same. It'd be more like Miami & NY which I watch but they don't hold the interest that the original does.

Did anyone catch it tonight? It was so hard to watch the tension between Catherine and the rest of the team. They are totally playing with the idea that they (and we, the viewer) don't really trust Keppler. Do you see the sparks between Cat and Keppler developing? (Working closely together, having dinner & that last look she gave...?) I dunno. Maybe they are working up to a Keppler/Catherine/Warrick triangle.

Last night's episode was so intense.
It really didn't seem like Catherine had a choice, but I know if Grissom was there he would have found a way to pull the whole team in. Grissom also wouldn't have given into the political pressure to lure the guy out with a whole set of false evidence.

I have to say that I'm so not into them having discord at the lab. I hated the story line with the Eckley thing and splitting the team up. I would rather they put their energy into interesting cases and not so much personal drama.

I agree.

That gift to Sarah and showing the name on the box(that I still do not believe would NOT have been forwarded to Gil) does not make up for Grissom not being there.

Yep, sorry, but Catherine is no Grissom. I do think it was kind of a sweet Grissomy gift for him to send the caccoon to Sara (even though she was frustrated because there was no note!)

Well, what did everyone think of tonight's episode?? It was nice to see Grissom again, even though it looked like the letter he was writing to Sara was a breakup/goodbye letter, at least with the "I'll miss you" part I read. But maybe he isn't sending it, since he hesitated writing the address. The preview next week shows Grissom back in Las Vegas, though, with a show down with Keppler. Finally we'll know all of the gritty on him! I wonder if he was involved with that girl dying - like maybe a reckless driving thing when he was a teen, and now he's tortured and torn?

I think the letter was partly an apology(the beginning stated something about thier goodbye being strained). I think it could be a break up letter. But I think for the most part it is to string us along, to think he could be leaving the show.

The thing that I don't understand is they've been seeing each other for months, yet he leaves for a month without either one calling each other. IT seems a little odd.

It was nice to see him with facial hair again.

My daughters were dancing around and cheering when they saw him. At the beginning of the show when Warrick said something like "you know what Grissom would say to this?" My 7 year old (yah she is 7 and LOVES the show ) "I miss Grissom and the little silly one liners he says. "

Really..... I love him clean-shaven!

It was nice to see Grissom again but I felt a little nervous as I thought the letter was an indication of him leaving the show. I sure hope not, then all I'll have are the repeats.

Kepler is an odd duck for sure.... will be interesting to see how it plays out but I'm glad Grissom is back to figure it all out!

Interesting episode! I am excited that we get to Grissom back next week, and I hope him and Sarah stay together. Their relationship hasn't been explored enough IMO. I am super happy we get some real info on Keppler next week.
Did anyone hear the scary whispery "Keppler" when he was in the morgue at the very end of the episode?
I had to go back because I hardly heard it the first time, but Keppler turned to look in the direction of his name.

Now that I know Grissom will be back next week, I'm sure it will be a good episode.
