thinking about becoming a Montessori teacher...

I wondered if there might be any Montessori teacher mamas here at MDC who could give me some input. I'm looking into distance learning (either internet or mail based) because, as much as I'd love to actually go to a campus, there just isn't one near me. Do Montessori teachers commonly get their training this way? Will it be more difficult for me to get a job or respect if my education is internet based? Is there more demand for teachers of certain levels (I can choose either ages 0-3, 3-6 or 6-9. I'm leaning toward older kids)?

Sorry for just rattling off questions like that--I need to get off the computer, but wanted to try and start getting answers asap Thanks!

peace, Beth

I looked into it awhile back. When I did there was no AMS or AMI cert. that could be gotten by mail- had to be done in person. If it's not AMS or AMI it's basically useless so far as getting a job.
