I just had a question about the cervix....as you dialate does your cirvix move up or does it come down lower?????? I have been trying to check my self but i still cant find it?

Not to be nosey, but how do you check yourself? I've been very anxious to know for myself, but my doc won't be checking til jan 15.

Honey posted a real good sticky up top too help you with self checks I would think your cervix would move down , but I could be so very wrong.. I tried checking myself twice and failed each time I am not even going too bother with checking, not even going too have my OB do any more cervical checks..

Your cervix moves forward and gets shorter. Right now it is posterior and as labor progresses it will move all the way to the front, and as it dialates it gets shorter and shorter-effacement.

i just sit on the toilet and look for it.. i have only found it once and i could barely reach it to see if i was dialated yet.

I have to get in a full squat. I have not been able to find it in any of my pgs before and any attendants have had a hard time too. This time I can just reach it. As a pp said there is a great sticky with info that will help.
