My stainless steel pots have rubber seals inside and outside the cover around the handles. I've been wondering about this for some time. Is it safe that rubber gets hot? My pressure cooker also has a ring rubber inside the cover too. It also has thick plastic handles on either side of the pot. They don't get super hot because they are for handles, but I've noticed that they get warm, also can get quite hot if I'm cooking something else on the stove next to it. Any concern with this kind of pot?
