I thought this was kinda neat...

Somebody, a nurse I think, from my health insurance company called me yesterday. They call once in a while when you have been pegged high-risk to see how you're doing and make sure you have the info you need; I think it's their way of saving money by preventing problems before they happen. Anyway, this woman's sole purpose in calling was to ask if I planned to breastfeed, because, as she said, "there are an awful lot of people, people who should know better like pediatricians and obstetricians, who will tell you that you can't exclusively breastfeed twins, and we wanted you to know that of course you can." Anyway, she talked to me for awhile about how to get off to the right start, and offered to send me a pile of information about breastfeeding, which I declined because I really don't need it-- that's why I have MDC-- but I still thought it was kinda cool that they'd make a call just for that reason. Just wanted to share...

I got tons of info on this from my high risk management program as well. They gave me a great deal of help and support for nursing. They were the first ones to talk to me about NEC and how breast feeding is a preventive factor.

Now if the health insurance had paid for my pump rental while DD was in NICU.

pump rental

Didn't that just burn your biscuits. Here we were trying so hard to provide the best thing to grow a healthy baby out of NICU and they wouldn't cover my pump. And then the stinking Ameda the hosp. gave me was killing my breasts so I had to go and get the even higher rental cost Medela Symphony (a huge difference for me) on my own as well. I am still mad about that. My neo even tried writing me a prescription for a pump, but that didn't work.
But hey OP, if you have any breastfeeding twin questions be sure to ask me. I have done it myself and worked with a half dozen clients as well who had twins.
