It has also been named one of Oprah's Ambassador schools (whatever that is). There are a few hs mamas who are using Enki and were planning on doing an Enki group two days a week, but I don't know if that ever got off the ground.
I wasn't sure if BCSIS was using some Enki materials as well as being Waldorf-inspired.
Eastern Sun looks so great, I've been a practicing (and practicing) Buddhist for almost 20 years so it totally appeals to me.
I also thought I heard about some Enki mamas closer to Denver getting something together.

Longmont here

I'm in Longmont. We moved here about 4.5 years ago; we love it. I was born/raised in So CA, left CA in '89 for OK, moved to CO in '03. SOOOOOOOOOO glad we got here. I wanted to live here my whole life, so it's my dream come true.

I'm a retired LLL Leader, just busy w/kids now (6 of them, ages four through seventeen). My "baby" started PreK this past fall, and my oldest is a senior in high school. They're all into art, music, computers, gaming, and various other things. Hubby and I are big into reading, cooking, baking, being in the mountains, and trying to learn how to relax.

I've been reading "Mothering" magazine since 1990; still have a subscription. It's fun to read articles online, and to connect w/other moms.

Recommendations?

Hi all, we are newish to Denver and expecting our first in April. We are looking for recommendations for a doula to help support our unmedicated birth plan in a hospital setting, and for a natural-minded pediatrician. Am I in the right place for suggestions? Thanks much!

Hi! We are also in Firestone. It's just 15 minutes east of Longmont. I'm also looking for like-minded families in this area. Our son is 7 months old - what a wonderful age! We cloth-diaper, co-sleep, breastfeed, partial organic food, etc. As you can see by all the responses, there are a lot of us in this area. We need to look, ask, and probably look into the many groups in the area.

The only birth center in CO is Mountain Midwifery. I'm in FC too. There are plenty of options for homebirth midwives.

http://coloradomidwives.net/zc-80528.aspx for a list.

I'd recommend any of them. Lynette Chambers, Beth Karberg, Janelle Boyington are all great!

One thing great about this area is that there are many wonderful midwives. My midwife is in Parker, so that wouldn't help you. I'm sure that if you found a local LLL group and started asking around, you could get a ton of suggestions!

I'm another Aurora mom!

Oops! Sorry - didn't see this post. I hope you found someone you like! I do have a suggestion for a good general practitioner practice if you're interested.

Turbosab, The birth center that was mentioned is an excellent birthing center. I birthed my 2nd daughter there in January and it was an amazing experiance. I would do it all over again! The crappiest part was the long drive from Colo. Springs, but it was well worth it. The CNM's and nurses are very hands-off and the care they give during prenatal appts., during labor and birth, and post-pardum is outstanding! I highly recommend them.

Hi from Westminster!

I'm also new to the MDC. We're living in Westminster/Broomfield, in a strange little area that can't decide which city/county we're actually in. Our address is Broomfield, but our police and fire dept are Westminster. Just as long as we get our mail, I'll deal with the confusion.

Pleased to meet some like-minded families.

Me, my hubby, and kiddo are moving to Ft. Collins in a month. Great to read all about the CO mommies! We lived in Steamboat Springs 5 years ago and I have missed CO since then. I am due with #2 in July and looking forward to getting back to a more natural state. We have been in OC/LA for 1 1/2 years and it is driving us crazy!

I lived in Colorado for a lot of my younger years and nearly all of my family lives there. I lived in Pueblo, Beulah, Commerce City, Georgetown. We're going this week to Moab and taking I-70 and am excited to go see the mountains again! My Grandfather lives up near Delta, so I want to see him and my Mom grew up in Summity County and I'd like to see some of the places she lived. After that we're going to go down to Pueblo to see my Grandmother and a bunch of old friends and family that live there. I never liked Pueblo much, but I love my family there. The mountains of Colorado are amazing though. So so beautiful. I really want to get up to see Bishops Castle!

Colorado is somewhere I always want to go when I visit the US.
