I want to make diapers/training pants for my sons. What type of fabric do you use in AIOs and for what (like next to the baby, soaker, ect.)? I am in need of help. We don't have many places that sell fabric here. I need to call around today. Thanks !

If you want waterproof training pants, then you will need to buy PUL or fleece. You can find fleece locally, PUL needs to be ordered on the internet. PUL is more reliable for big toddler pees and is trimmer as well.

For the inside of waterproof training pants you can use cotton flannel, interlock or jersey knits, or sweatshirt fleece. Look for fabrics with a lot of cotton, at least 80%. There are lots of other fabrics you could use for the inside layers, but those are available at most local fabric stores.

You can also use nylon, it's relatively easy to find at any craft store and is waterproof. To waterproof it supertight just get some camp dry or other waterproofing spray, you can find it in the sporting goods section. After spraying with most sprays you can wash like normal. I've used nylon for training pants for my niece and it works well and you can find it on clearance for a couple bucks usually. Of course it's always ugly colors but heck it's cheap and they don't use them long usually.

What weight and weave of nylon did you use/ find works best?

I find the lighter wieght, silkier kind was more comfortable. The heavier weight is kind of crunchy, and crinkles when she walks.
